"So we ended up getting a little lost tonight, a local woman was kind enough to put us in contact with Ellen at the Historic Matawan House. We could not be happier...this place is an amazing Bed & Breakfast. The room is spotless clean, spacious, and we even have our own private deck on the upper floor. I can not say enough about how beautifully decorated & well maintained the house is. They typically do not take walk-ins, so I recommend you make a reservation to stay here. If you find one single thing wrong with this place...there is something wrong with you. The rooms do not have televisions, however guests are welcome to use the one on the main floor. They offer breakfast for their guests & the owner is very kind. Highly recommend. Wrote this review before our morning with Ellen & Dave Hatfield, I would just like to add that they served us a delicious breakfast & we had the pleasure of spending the morning with them....These people made us feel like family, they shared stories about the area and were just so so kind. Thank you Hatfields...our getting lost ended up being a highlight of our 3 week trip...we will God willing see these fine people again ❤️"

"Ellen,David, Kim and Josh made us feel like a part of the family. I am so happy that I chose this bed and breakfast for our four night stay in Matewan. We got the railroad suite and it was perfect for our family and friends. I can honestly say I have 0 complaints about this facility and the staff. The breakfast each morning was amazing the only thing that took some getting used to was the train at night, by the 2nd day we were so tired we got used to it. If you're looking for a awesome place to stay with all the amenities and people that treat you like family this is definitely the place and I would recommend this to anyone and I mean highly recommend this place to anyone they are awesome!. The entire bed and breakfast was really clean and had everything we needed right there. The only thing you need to bring is yourself friends family and your ATV or sxs. I hope everyone enjoys their stay as much as we did I will definitely be coming back to stay with Ellen and David Hatfield."
