"My fiancée and I were in town for a funeral in Lynchburg. Despite the reason, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Main Inn. The rooms there have been updated (not completely reno'd) and we enjoyed the ambiance, room size, the beds, the common living room, and the staff! The staff is so welcoming, authentic, and delightful. Every touch point was a positive experience. Upon our return to the Elston each evening, we felt it to be a charming and comforting oasis. It is not a modern, cold facility like so many. Room rates are an exceptional value. We enjoyed a few meals in Sweet Briar's Dining/Cafeteria, where one can get a pleasing meal very inexpensively, including vegan and organic options. We walked the stunning campus grounds. I am a 30+ year hospitality professional and I highly recommend. This will become our retreat for years to come. Cheers to the Elston Inn!"

"This Inn, located on Sweet Briar College's campus, is a great place to stay, whether you are a student, visiting a student, or a potential student. The scenery here is fantastic, it is settled at the edge of the woods at the front of campus. Lots of deer live in this area! All the rooms are extremely clean. The carpets are a bright white. Each room has its own cute, classy decor. There are plenty of rooms, but when there is a large campus event, it can get fully booked. If it is not busy, there are plenty of different sizes of rooms to choose from to accommodate your needs. There is also a room where they serve breakfast in the mornings. The employees at check in are so sweet. So is housekeeping!"

"We were running late and the inn phoned us to ask when we were arriving. They were very kind and told us since we would be there after the registration desk closed, the security gaurd at the entrance would have our check in information. The room was clean and spacious and the staff are exceptional."

"Booked our stay for a quick overnight to see my daughter on her bday. But then a snow/ice storm came and we weren't sure about the roads. Katie at the front desk was amazing when I called and the morning I was to leave for Sweet Briar I called her again and she had road conditions readily available for me. Once we arrived the lobby was welcoming and our room was clean and gorgeous. No coffee makers but fresh coffee in the lobby and my sweet hubs brought it to me. He really enjoyed the sitting area upstairs where he had quiet time allowing me to sleep in. Oh and the 11am check out was nice too as most are 10am. Everyone was so nice and I'm looking forward to coming back over the next 3 years that my kid is there for school"
