"Really enjoyed our stay! This was our second Getaway, it was a quick overnight stop on our Northbound travels but it was exactly what we needed. A little off the beaten path but that’s just the point! Our accommodations were well kept and clean, the kids enjoyed the oversized bunk beds :)"

"We have stayed at multiple Getaway locations over the last 5 years and have always had a good experience. Although this location is the newest we've stayed at, it was unfortunately the worst. When we checked in there were multiple dead flies on the floor of the cabin and we killed at least 10 more through the course of the evening. By the time we went to bed we thought we had finally got them all, only to wake up to 3 more buzzing around. We killed those and more just kept coming. On top of that it seems like the cabins continue to get smaller and placed closer together. You used to get a free S'mores kit but now they're $5 each. They make sure to let you know the dog treats are on them, which would be very kind except that you pay a $50/night pet fee, so who's really paying for those treats? We asked for a cabin with parking close to an outdoor outlet so that we could charge our EV. This wasn't an issue at all when we stayed at the other Shenandoah location and it was a big help to us, especially when the weather is cold and EV batteries are less efficient. Here they told us that this was not possible and asked us to not to try to charge the vehicle at the cabin. While walking around the compound the next day, we saw there were several cabins with outlets close enough to the parking to allow us to charge. I guess that all of this is a consequence of the company growing and trying to be profitable. However, it's sad that the company seemed to care much more about the experience in its early days and now as time goes on the focus has become how to squeeze more and more money from guests while cutting costs wherever possible without thinking about how this affects the guest experience."

"If you want a camping getaway with absolutely zero work or fuss, this is the one :) The "cabin" had everything I might ever think of packing on a camping trip, but the nicer, newer, prettier, more comfortable version. The inside was extremely well thought through. Just bring your clothes, your toothbrush/toothpaste, and maybe dinner and a bottle of wine. They have everything else. I loved the little s'mores kits! All set out and waiting! We arrived on site in our car, and ten minutes later, had a camp fire going and were roasting marshmallows, with a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge "

"A short drive for residents of Northern Virginia. Functional with an aesthetic design is how I'd best describe the cabins. Highly recommend planning meals, water and camping foods ahead of getting there. Besides that, you have pretty much everything you need to start your glamping holiday and enjoy the cabin and its amenities. For a first time camper, the firewood and firestarter provided was sufficient to get a campfire going for 2-3 hours. It did cost extra - $10 in total - worth it. The cabin had a lighter as well even though it wasn't mentioned on the website, and was useful. Shenandoah North Getaway is exactly as wonderful as their website promises. In love with it and looking up our next getaway already!"
