"O V E R P R I C E D $$$$$$$$ In an effort to get an MRI without contrast, of an upper extremity, we almost passed out when they told us the cost! This area of Tennessee HAS to be one of the most expensive places for anything including Healthcare 2nd only to Brentwood or Franklin near Nashville. Our portion- $2000 with total cost over $3000 To show the insanity of this price....$$$$ I had a brain scan with contrast and a scan of the neck region in Kentucky- Total cost $800.00 (average price) It's beyond sad how much price gouging is occurring here in all business markets BUT ballad, SHAME ON YOU!!! It's people's lives and their health that should matter most....but the financial stress you're adding to all who need your services is nothing short of criminal! It would then benefit any/all patients to shop around for better more affordable options."
"My wife had a heart monitor appointment. She selected Sycamore Shoals because of a17 year patient history of superior service. Not this time. She had to wait 29 minutes just to register for the visit. THE Hospital Receptionist simply had to finish a personal conversation. I am now led to believe Balad health wants to close a great hospital. More and more deceit from Balad."
"Misdiagnosed cellulitis. Emergency room is always understaffed. They have not had a room for my 84 yr old mother multiple times for over 8 hrs (and twice overnight) since June. More of a Ballard problem I’m guessing. It’s really sad how patients are treated and the overall lack of care."
"First time visiting this hospital and it was the worst ER visit of my life. The waiting room was filthy, food covered floors. What can you do? The bathroom had urine sprayed everywhere. I waited over 3 hours in a lobby with a grand total of maybe 5 people just to get misdiagnosed, well really, not diagnosed at all. I went completely deaf in one ear with severe pain following a loud *pop* and knew I just needed an earwax extraction based off my last two urgent care doctor visits. They were unable to do it themselves due to me being ill at the time. I explained this to the ER nurse. The ER doctor advised me to flush my ear instead insisting I had no impaction - that my ear looked fine. Then he ordered a CT scan and went to send me home. I asked if he could flush my ear there to ensure my problem was solved and he suddenly changed his tune and said it was a terrible idea and not to flush it at all. I visited a specialist the next day who said my ear was horribly impacted and it was obvious from a glance. He fixed my issue within 5 minutes. What I experienced was pure medical neglect. They put me on antibiotics with no evidence of an ear infection and my discharge paperwork diagnosis is “ear ache”. I have a picture of the inside of my ear before going into the ER and it was a clear diagnosis with an easy solution."
"Would give 0 stars if I could!! I went to the ER! They were rude, disrespectful, non caring. The doctor lady was rude and didn't even introduce herself. Asked for blanket cause I was freezing, never got one, never heard from my nurse, didn't take blood pressure, nothing! Felt very uncomfortable there. So I left and went to different ER and was treated very well!!"
