Reviews of Woodridge Hospital
"Woodridge let my suicidal brother leave the hospital. After claiming he's done bad things to kids, hearing voices and much more. My brother had a ZOOM call with a doctor and the reason he let my brother go was because the way he talked. That came out of a nurses mouth. Mind you he hadn't even been there a full 24hrs, he was transferred from creekside because he didn't have money to pay for his treatment. So then to Woodridge he went and boom out he goes. Wonder if it was because he didn't get the grant for free care there. The cops, creekside, and Woodridge failed him. Shame on you all!!!!!"
"I had a nervous breakdown today, and it got really bad to the point that I probably should have been admitted, but I'm too scared to step foot in Woodridge. I came in there with cash in my wallet, and it was not there whenever I left. I was actually made aware by another person that their money had gone missing, and I demanded them to bring me my wallet. Sure enough, my money was gone too. We come there for help not to get robbed. I was put in the Laurel unit, and the staff there is absolutely terrible, mostly the night staff. The mental health patients were more rational and kind than staff. I was supposed to have a video chat with my daughter but also had a knee that was bothering me and I talked to the day staff if I could please sit in a chair and use the phone on the desk instead of the phone on the wall and they agreed but whenever the night staff came in they were complete jerks. I just tried talking to them about me getting to talk to my daughter and how my knee was hurting and they flipped the phone switch off. Why in the hell would you use a call with my daughter as a weapon against me? I'm already in there because I'm having a rough time with life and I was in there because of inconsiderate people like your staff members. Treating me like I am an inmate, like a problem. Whenever we all went to bed it was party time for them they had to clean and sanitize everything so they're just slamming all the chairs into each other and I'm in the hallway in a bed already under bright lights and your staff is just carrying on and being absolutely obnoxious. However I was in there because I couldn't get sleep where I lived so I did eventually fall asleep. Someone said I was so still they wanted to come and check on me but they heard about my experiences and how I pretty much hadn't had a full night sleep in a year. So there is some considerate people but a majority are young immature hostile people. I don't know if they just have major insensitivity because they have been around troubled people and they've just seen it all and have experienced so much that they are always on edge and ready to pounce on everything. If you can't treat people respectfully and a mental health hospital you need to find another line of work. I'm honestly not surprised to come here to leave my own experience see that you have a 3.0 review. Whenever I was in there, I was talking about making some donations like some sunglasses because we've been stuck inside then they let us come outside and the sun is burning our eyes. I'm autistic and I have sensitivity to light. The basketballs were in disrepair. After conferring with some people and dealing with my experiences I have no doubt that my donations would have probably wound up being trashed as well. Ballad Health needs to provide good equipment. So I didn't go through with it. I will say one thing though it was the first time in my life that someone help me understand the importance of boundaries. Boundaries help make sure you respect others but also for yourself so you're not giving up to much of yourself. Like trying to make donations to a facility that has the funds to get their own stuff and likes to rob patients. Your staff has significant boundary issues and need to sit in on some of these group sessions. We come in there for reprieve from a world of darkness not to have staff bring further negativity towards us. You need to do better. Be better. You are supposed to be our safety net but due to your reputation in the community and the things that you have done to people like me and others we don't see you as a place of safety."
"I went to Woodridge after being in Creekside and Woodridge helped me Doctor told me back in May that Creekside had me on too much medicine they took me off about everything till today am doing so much better and my therapist even notices changed since I was in there she said am so much relaxed then I was before going into Woodridge."
"The staff was very nice and respectful. They took the time to hear me and believing in me. The reason they believed me was some of the stuff has felt with the LPN in the ER in Johnson City. I have a lot of respect for the nurses there and especially there Dr who took the time not just listen to me but to take the time to contact my Dr confirm I didn't really need to be there taking up a bed that someone else really needs"
