Reviews of Holston Valley Medical Center
"Absolute garbage They treat their me elderly patients like trash My roommate went in because The paramedics thought he was having a heart attack. They take him straight to the waiting room from the ER just put them in a little waiting area For hours And I went back in 2020 and I sat there for eight hours with My blood sugar being at 500 By the time they saw me, it came down on its own Could’ve actually killed me Just so, Holston Valley knows people started referring to them as death Valley Those people were literally die waiting For treatment Y’all didn’t used to be this way Before ballet took over"
"My aunt was in this hospital, the nurse was very rude to me about my special needs son who was impatient because we drove 2 hours 30 mins to get there and then sit and waited 2 hours before they told us she wouldn't be released, just for me to drive back home get a call the next day and tell me I had 1 hour to get there or she would be released and left on the sidewalk after the doctor plainly told me they would release her when I arrived the next day after I got off work. The room was nasty and not feom just my aunt being there it had black along the edges of the wall and the thermostat was nasty with I don't know what on it."
"My Father recently had a stroke and he received excellent care from the ER to ICU. But we would especially like to thank Rebecca on the 6th floor for going above and beyond to take the time when he needed help even though she was very busy taking care of numerous orher patients. Thank you for the excellent care!"
"The care my father received in the ER was terrible. He was brought back to a room & his nurse didn’t come into the room for 4 hours after he was brought back. His heart monitor rang out asystole (if you work in healthcare you know) and to my surprise no one came to check on him, no one was watching the monitor. I had to go get help so someone could fix his heart monitor. It’s extremely concerning to me that my father’s heart rate was reading out 0 and no one came to check on that. My father is also blind, his nurse put him on a bedpan, didn’t pull his pants down all the way and just left him alone with no call light or any way to call for help when he was finished. He laid in a bed moaning in pain for hours with no help, or concern for his well being. I work in healthcare so this was extremely disheartening to see. I understand being busy and in a high stress environment, but it’s not fair to the patients who are trusting you to take care of them to receive treatment like this."
"Father went into HVMC ER 14 days post op from open heart surgery with chest pain/ arm numbness and tingling. 7 1/2 hours later and test have been ran and still hasn't seen a doctor. From what we was told only one doctor was there running the ER. The ER rooms if that's what you want to call a curtain and a recliner was disgusting. Food, trash, and old pharmacy bags in the waiting area. We will definitely be looking at other options after this experience. Glad my dog has a cleaner building when it goes to the vet and friendlier staff cause I wouldn't take a dog here after this"
