"If there was a zero star, I would have chosen that. However, in order to write a review I had to rate 1-5. I have had my children, older grandchildren, foster and adoptive children in daycare. As I am a working member of society. I have NEVER been exposed to the rudeness and disrespect as I have with the people who manage this daycare. My daughter was often afraid to go into the daycare to drop off or pick up my grandson . This fear came from always being harassed by the management. A husband and wife and daughter run this daycare. The unprofessionalism that they display is uncalled for. The last straw was when the daughter called me and yelled at me for several minutes. After listening to her berate me, uninterrupted,I then asked if I could then respond. In a calm, professional manner, I responded to her allegations. She frequently interrupted me and would yell more. After telling her that if we could not resolve this in a calm professional matter then I would end this conversation. She continued to be verbally aggressive so I then told her I was finished with the conversation then disconnected the call. When I went to pick up my grandson following the conversation cause I didn't want him in a hostile environment, I found my grandson and about 5 other children in an old wooden playpen outside in the sun in the playpen with hardly any toys. The floor of the wooden playpen was uneven and there was a big gap in the center in which one of those little toddlers could have sprained, twisted or broken an ankle. Often when picking him up he would look as if he has been upset for a while, look as if he'd been crying. Sometimes he would just be sitting in a crib. One day care worker told me they would put him in a crib for time out if he couldn't keep his hands to himself. He is a year old!! He would also come home from there being very thirsty and hungry as if he had nothing all day. Very unusual for this child. If you care about your loved one DO NOT put them in there. Not even as a last resort!!"
"Shining Star Daycare is everything you would want in a family owned daycare, with years of experience in child care. I was the infant teacher there for a little over a year and I loved working alongside Ms. Faye and her daughters. They are attentive to each child and provide a happy learning environment for each age group. I only left because I myself became pregnant with my second child and they were very considerate of the new journey I was about to take on. My oldest also went there when she was 3 years old and still talks about it to this day. This is a highly recommended child care facility. They are clean and efficient when it comes to the state requirements and their own personal standards of education align with what your little one will need. And above all if you have questions they are there to listen and answer! I know they are high demand so the sooner you get on the list, the better! Five stars all around!"
"My daughter is in love with this Daycare, she even asks me to take her to “the school” on weekends. I was concerned at first because my little one doesn’t do great with meeting new people but after one year with these wonderful teachers, they knew how to deal with my baby. Her communication skills improved, even when we were having issues with the language because she only knew how to communicate in Spanish and now my baby speaks beautiful English thanks to them, she even calls me "Ms. Twala" at home!!! Teachers and staff are very nice people and even my older daughter wants to attend the Daycare too because they are amazing. I highly recommend this place for your children."
"This Daycare was so great for our family, our daughter was there within their toddler program and 2 yo class. She loved every minute, and we had so much trust in the staff there. They provided great meals and snacks! Great care all around, and great communication!"
"We were really happy to find this daycare. They were responsive to our requests like putting on shoe covers/wear dedicated shoes where the infants are crawling around. And the dietary desires we had for our kids were fulfilled the best they could with kids. The staff are caring; I think that aspect is what I find great about them most. They pick kids up and respond to their cries; I know my 15 month old is being cuddles well. My 4 year old behaves well most times so, I have not had issues. She is singing songs coming home and hasn’t picked up justifiably worrisome or alarming behaviors. The daycare is doing HiMama app now which is a nice plus."
