"went for a nerve conduction test. The doctor and his interns ran the ONE test and I left. They sent me a bill for 300+ dollars which I promptly paid. A few weeks later I got another bill for a similar amount. I called just to ask "what's the OTHER test I'm being billed for?" but couldn't get a single human being on the line. I left a message but the person returning my call just said "we've looked into it and that bill was coded correctly". In other words "we've investigated ourselves and found no wrong doing". Completely useless."
"I went in because I broke my leg, i ended up having to poop in a bucket while being watched by a nurse. When i gave it to the doctor he exclaimed "tasty" and i immediately left. Never going back again"
"Recently I had annual check up in the UVA primary care center. I had four Lab tests done on the same day. Later, I was billed for two labs towards my annual deductible. Two labs denied are comprehensive metabolic panel and thyroid function. I have done these tests every year and they were all covered by my health insurance. I called my insurance and was told the provider billed the wrong codes. I sent a message to the UVA billing department but I was told they billed correct codes. I called my insurance and a case manager at the insurance company reached out UVA billing office. The billing office resubmitted the claim, but was denied again. I was advised by the billing office if I have problems to pay the bill I can contact UVA financial office. I called my Insurance again and the case manager at the insurance company called the UVA billing office again and told them to contact their provider relationship. After four months of back and forth of communication, finally these two labs were paid. It was such a headache. I guess the staff at UVA billing office is an entry level staff, that is why they didn’t know the correct codes or process for preventive care billing."
"Literally the worst hospital I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing. Dr. Kenneth Mullin should be barred from practicing medicine, along with Dr. Kelley Osborn. My wife and I had a very traumatic labor experience due to those hacks And she has to receive physical therapy due to their careless blunders. Then the hospital lost a bunch of stuff so we didn't get our child's social security card and have to go to the office. Now, they have told my wife the wrong information which will long delay a surgery, we've known she's needed for many months. Stay away if you can!"
"To be honest, every single visit has been a horror show. I visited them for a rare skin condition, and they admitted me to the psych ward because they thought I was delusional. In the psych ward, they forced an injection of a medication that I don’t normally take and that makes me feel horrible. I was actually in the shower, and four security guards pinned me down on my bed as the nurse gave me the injection. It’s absolutely disgusting. I left with no resolution to my original reason for going there. It just seems like nobody knows anything or doesn’t care about it enough to do anything. I’ve been finding ways to treat myself."
