"I bring my kids (7f 9m) for kids CrossFit class. They have lots of fun, get good exercise, and I like that they are around a good gym and good people. Like, theyre learning young that taking care of yourself is a normal thing to do"
"Dropped into this gym while I was working in the Chesapeake area for the week. This gym is AMAZING. The staff and athletes were very welcoming. The workouts were challenging/rewarding and the atmosphere is exactly what you want out of a gym. If I lived in this area I would 100% go here."
"A little background so that you can see if this review is right for you. Age – in my 50s, been doing Crossfit for going on 6 months, started 2 to 3 days a week now shoot for 5 each week, prior to Crossfit I was a long distance runner for many years, no background in Olympic weight lifting or gymnastics, struggled with being overweight (250+) for most of my adult life. Was I intimidated to go to the Crossfit Box (gym) for the first time? Absolutely! What have I learned? There is no need to be intimidated about going to Crossfit. If you have good coaches, they know how to scale the workouts to meet anybody at their current ability level. The workouts are always challenging, but you feel a great sense of accomplishment when they are done. You put in hard work and you get results. I travel a bit for work and have visited many Crossfit boxes (gyms). This is what I think sets Krypton apart from the others. 1) The coaches at Krypton are incredible! I have to give a shout out to those coaches I typically work with. Thanks to Tori, Dave, Tom, and Josh. All of them push me and give me advice to help me learn the many techniques of Crossfit. I am impressed that they know everyone’s name after the first time they meet them. You will not find a better group of coaches. A little about each: Tori has a background in nutrition. She can help you meet your nutritional goals. Tom does a fun warm-up activity for “Fun Friday”. It is an awesome way to start the day. Josh has really pushed me with my form for lifts. I can’t thank him enough. Dave programs a masters workout (35 and above) that is one of my favorite workouts of the week. I call it Dave’s killer workout. It is always challenging, but so much fun! I look forward to it! 2) Programming – The programming is done by Ben Smith. If you don’t know Ben, he has won many crossfit events. He is also one of the most humble, nicest people you can meet. The workouts are amazing and will get you in the best shape of your life. Now that I am in the latter half of my life, I finally have a shot of having a six pack that’s not from Budweiser. 3) The People- The people I work out with are amazing. I am one of the slowest, weakest members of the group; but they don’t judge. They offer advice, encouragement, and motivation. I am thankful for the crossfitters at Krypton. 4) Technology – As part of your membership you get access to a tracker where you can track all of your workouts and improvements. They also provide a tool to see the schedule and register for classes. 5) Some of the superstars from Crossfit work out here. You can learn a lot by watching their technique and work effort. They are also down to earth people that will give you advice to help you on your journey. If you are on the fence about trying crossfit, I recommend you sign up for a free class and check it out. I think you will be delightfully surprised. My only regret is that I didn’t sign up years ago."
"I love this gym! I am a member, and really enjoy the coaches, the large space, the equipment, and the general atmosphere. It's super clean, and the owners are the Smith's! Ben, Alec, and Dane, are all CrossFit Games Athletes, and it's so fun to see them around and be able to work out with them. Adam Klink, current leader of the under 5 minute mile and 500 pound squat in one day, is my coach almost every class. (6am) It is amazing to train with such gifted, strong, talented athletes. Whether you are coming by as a drop-in, or need a gym home, you will love it here!!"
"Unusual situation because I am not a member but my daughter is. Cannot say enough about what a genuinely safe, caring environment that they have produced for the CrossFit Kids class. I’ve coached kids before, and it’s definitely not easy. That being said, despite many different coaches (due to work schedules and babies for the staff), the consistency in quality amongst the coaches is hands down top notch. Thank you for providing such a respectful environment for my daughter."
