"My boyfriend used the Water Street location in Charlottesville to file his 2022 taxes. Paid them over $200 for their supposedly guaranteed services and quick refund. What a joke! The woman didn't even send them in! We had to go back and have a different, more knowledgeable gentleman file them the following day due to her mistakes. It's been 3 weeks and he still hasn't received his "quick" refund he paid for. Do not waste your money with these people, they lie about what you're getting and when you try to question management they hang up on you!"

"The first year we used their service was good. But the year after the service was really poor, no clear communication and charges in the price that are still unclear. They forgot to send us the consentment form and that delayed the tax reimbursement process almost a month!!!"

"The price. I paid $208, because I had 3 W-2s for switching jobs and having an extra job, and I'm only getting $117 back? No offense but next year I will do it myself like I've always done with TurboTax and pay only $89, no matter how many W-2s I have. I'm grateful for it being done right and the assurance that H&R Block gave me, but honestly, had I not been so worried about doing it correctly this time, I wouldn't have even stayed after they told me the price."

"The person answering the telephone was not professional, insensitive, and uninterested in my question. She give me the impression she was not interested in trying to ensure a new customer for H&R Block and I was just a waste of time. H&R Block should do better training their staff."

"I went in to locate a past tax filing and the gentleman that helped me was super nice and very helpful. When his female manager stepped in to access my file, she was very rude, dismissive, and short with me. Her haircut should’ve tipped me off as her “I’m very important” belittling behavior made me leave immediately, and I used TurboTax that night. Would highly recommend steering clear of this location."
