"If there was a way to give 0 stars then I would. I am in town visiting my family for the holidays and my 14 year old sister wanted to show me the rec center. I thought it was a great idea. I left my backpack and belongings in the locker room and was told by staff at the front desk that I could get a lock for the locker. So I went to the locker room and did not find any locks to speak of. My sister wanted to get in the pool and was waiting on me. I did not want to leave her in the company of strangers and that was clearly a good call. After we got done swimming, I went into my locker and noticed all my belongings were shifted in the locker. After further investigation, I learned that over $100 was stolen from my wallet. I brought this up to the front desk ladies and Laurie told me it was my fault my money was stolen and there was nothing they were going to do about it. I was very aggravated at this point but kept my composure. After my mother arrived to pick us up because I cannot drive being legally blind and disabled I went back to the front desk. The only things I told them on my way out was “I hope that this can be a lesson and you can use this to ensure something like this does not happen again.” After that Laurie decided the best course of action was to argue with me and explain that if her purse was in the car then it would be stolen. If I could drive a car then i’m sure I could make that connection Laurie. As bothered as I am, I hope that Laurie and the other staff can learn from this experience and help to improve the theft rate and also keep an eye out for suspicious characters in their facility. I wish Wytheville Parks and Recreation could take responsibility for something that I feel is clearly the fault of the company. Thank you for your time."

"It was really a fun place to hang out and do all sorts of different activities. Think of it as a gym, pool, rock climbing, basketball, and more, with the price of one, if that. It's really nice and clean. Overall an amazing place."

"This place is awesome the gym, the pool, the classes, weightlifting racquetball basketball and a super climbing wall, and they offer so much more. The prices to belong to the rec center are unbelievably low for what you were getting. I have relatives in other states that are pain three to four times more a year for not as nice places to exercise. It is spit shine and clean and the employees who run it or knowledgeable and super nice. I would give it a 10 star if I had the option. They really cater to their members and to visitors alike!"
