Days Inn by Wyndham New Market Battlefield

"The room was filthy. There was dirt and bugs around the perimeter of the room. The paint was peeling off the ceiling. The room was supposed to be nonsmoking but it smelled like smoke. It smelled like they were trying to mask the smell with something. We only stayed in the room for 15 minutes due to my asthma. We didn’t even bother checking out. I knew if we would have stayed I would be VERY sick by morning. Fortunately, we found another place to stay in a nearby town."

"This was a basic hotel. Easy to get to, right off the highway. No real amenities and a bag breakfast with a banana, granola bar, crackers and an 8 oz water. The rooms smelled good, but when I got settled and went to plug in my phone charger I found lots of dirt, debris and dead bugs behind the night stand. Kind of groce. The floor needed to be moped, there was dirt rings on the floor and the second bed had some debris on it which I left. The door had a huge gap in it, light was coming through and it was so big that I was able to place the hand towel in the space. I was there approximately 12 hours. It was fine for a quick overnight. I would not likely stay there again."

"A family member of mine went inside and the man at the desk told her that all of the rooms were full. There was only 2 other cars outside. He was obviously lying and was being rude to my family member. We got food and came back, and he told us there was only 2 rooms left. Those 2 rooms were SMOKING rooms?! We had a 5 year old, 8 year old, 11 year old, and 15 year old with us. They say the beds there are “queen size” but they were only full beds. As soon as you walk in that place you automatically start to smell cigarettes. I don’t know how to describe the smell but all of us could feel our throats closing up. The man also told us that we couldn’t check in yet for another hour when there was people walking in their room. This place is filled with crack heads. The breakfast was a brown paper bag with a molded banana, stale crackers, and a tiny bottle of water. The room had paint flakes coming off of the wall, there was roaches on the ground, stink bugs, and the bathroom toilet wasn’t even flushed, and the shower curtain had holes in it. It smelled like smoke and there were ants EVERYWHERE. Our door wasn’t shutting, and it creaked loudly. The ants were crawling on the bed. The lamp didn’t even work. TV remote didn’t work. We had to leave our trip early, as we were not going to have kids in a smoking room with bugs surrounding us. If you are homeless on drugs and just need a place to stay for the night, this place is for you. But otherwise this place should be shut down."

"This place is disgusting. On the website it is promoted as a good hotel. All of the photos are fake. We were staying here for a night. Make sure to bring a door stop, mace, and an alarm because this place is so shady. Our room was out back. In the back there were people throwing parties and peeing in the bushes. When we got into the room it smelled okay. The floor was disgusting, there were dead bugs under the heater and the chair. There was also chunks of dirt and dust. The chair is infested with spiders and there was a stink bug climbing up the wall. The bathroom is also really bad, there is black flakes on the tub floor. The toilet paper holder is falling out of the wall. The beds are fine, they are changed and clean. There is no microwave. The remote was sticky and dirty. Our wet wipe was BLACK. And the lamps don’t work. They are just there for show. I slept with my mace beside me all night. I kept hearing people walking around outside our room. Please don’t stay here. Also the breakfast is a total disaster. They give you a SMALL paper bag with a banana, granola bar, and some crackers."

"Worst hotel I have visited. Do not stay here. The towels are ruff and rugged. They are worst than the ones I use to wipe my feet at home. They were also dirty. When you dry off with them, white is all over you. The front desk attendants are rude. There is no microwave in your room. The room was stink with cigarette smoke, even though they claimed it was a no smoking room. They had a box with grab and go breakfast that had ripe banana, chewy, peanut butter crackers...really. All basic accommodations are a lie. We were going to our children's school function for the week and booked 2 nights. This is a place for people who are stranded and just need a place for the night. If you really don't need to shower or don't need breakfast, this is your place. I did not feel safe either. I took pictures...I wish this place had a section for pictures. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at."
