"My vet referred me here since my puppers seems to have allergies and the general treatments aren’t working or working very well. I live in the Charlottesville area so it’s a bit of a hike. That said, it was well worth it! Not only did they offer my furbaby excellent care, they were very informative and went out of their way to get us in and out so I could make a meeting later in the day. Last year I went to a different veterinarian dermatologist in RVA and had a terrible experience. Waited over an hour just to be seen and it went downhill from there. This place is the complete opposite compared to that other place! You can tell they’re very experienced all around. From the pre-appointment communication and expectation management all the way through post care. I’m so happy with the care they’ve provided, how they communicated with me, and how they treated me that I’d drive 3 hours one way to keep using them! An easy 6 out of 5 stars!"

"There are underlying complaint themes if you read enough of the reviews. I found them factual. The individuals who answer the phones and assist in getting your records and making appointments: are uncaring, rude, unprofessional and have the manners as if they were born and raised in a barn. My Vizsla was suffering from a flare-up from a food allergy. They made me an appointment at the end of August. Today he was dehydrated and going into shock. They care not one thing to assist in any way. The reason the place is set up to make money. I rushed him at 120 mph to The Virginia Maryland Veterinary College of Medicine's ER. (See the review) I was there from 9 in the morning till 6 that afternoon. The ER DR had a faculty dermatologist come in on the case. When we left it was bright eyed and playing like a puppy. They identified the cause. Protein from cross-contamination in commercia dog food. Students spent 3 hours with me going over his schedule in feeding routines and eating. Where and when he played. $140. Best move of my life for my dog. The vet derm group wanted an initial exam fee and then $1,800 test."

"Toy poodle has years of on-going allergy and yeast infections. Dr. Schmeitzel and her team are awesome folks who will work with u by providing clear and concise information to help your pet. I had immediate results by using the skin care provided. Yes u have to be committed and fortunate for me Penny is 9lb, otherwise I would not be able to care for her alone. I believe the consultation was extremely productive with all her team members doing their specific part of their assessment. I am thankful for the indepth visit with immediate results on this case I got what I paid for...but peace of mind well u can't put a price on that...so I consider that a real deal considering I was not charged an extra consult fee for that.
