"Receptionist are terrible it is like they do not understand english and they hung up on me twice in a row after 10 minutes of Hold. I am just trying to ask why they stopped accepting my $400 worth of Groupon in July even though it expired August 12th. I tried to get my money back in early August but they said they are not the ones to give the refund, groupon is. Massage therapist are good but I feel scammed out of $400 especially as I have been here twice before."
"I'm usually a regular H&S customer out of Virginia Beach. However, while recently on a business trip to Northern Virginia, I was in the need for some deep tissue massage treatment. Couple things to highlight: 1.) I had accidentally gone to the wrong location "on time" and to head to the correct location would have cut my treatment time in half. Linda, my assigned therapist, allowed me to adjust the time to fully accommodate me for the originally scheduled 1-hour session upon arrival to the correct location. 2.) Once the treatment started, Linda performed the best deep tissue treatment I have ever received, regardless of whether it was another H&S location or a competitor. The conversation during the session was intriguing and Linda really went above and beyond in ensuring I was fully taken care of."
"Worst massage I’ve ever had. Luckily I had a gift card so I didn’t have to pay for it, but I wouldn’t visit this place. The “massage therapist” basically just applied oil on me and kind of poked my legs and back. My two year old could have done a better job. Plus she started 20 min late and finished 5 minutes early. Terrible. I tipped but honestly wish I hadn’t."
"This new location was offering a "promotion" for a free massage or facial and I eagerly signed up to be notified when appointments became available. I was really excited because I never seem to have the time to treat myself to self care, but with the offer for a free service I had an incentive to make it work with my schedule. As soon as I received an email that appointments were available, I called the spa and scheduled an appointment. Before the call ended I was told I had to give a credit card number even though my service was to be free. I was told it was in case I wanted to leave a gratuity but I always use cash for tips to ensure that the person providing my service receives the entire amount instead of subjecting it to credit card fees. While I was told cash would be fine for a gratuity, I was also told that I was required, per the management, to leave a credit card number. They said it was to "hold" my appointment time, which is ridiculous because all a business has to do to hold my appointment is to put my name on the schedule. It feels like they don't trust their potential clients, so why should I trust them? Businesses experience data breaches all the time and I am very choosy about who gets my personal and financial data. Certainly I won't give that information to a company whose services I have yet to utilize and have never had any business dealings with. And above all, not to a company that is offering a FREE service. Instead of potentially gaining a new client, this spa just ensured they will never get any business from me. What a disappointment, and a waste of time."
"This place was nicely decorated. The massage therapist was running late but she was kind to let me know she was a bit behind but is going to make sure I get the entire time I paid for. The massage itself was ok, nothing wow but she was nice and attentive. The oil used was not good quality and didn't smell good.. They had water bottles for sale in the waiting area which I thought was odd. Every massage I had, I was offered water as it is important to hydrate after a massage. It wasn't terribe but I would not go back."
