Walgreens

"This pharmacy does not value wellness or health. They are frequently understaffed and medications are often out-of-stock. The drive-thru is a nice convenience, but 50% of the time it is closed. These were frustrating conditions when dealing with my routine medications. Today was the last straw. My daughter was diagnosed with Influenza and we were within the window for Tamiflu, but barely. Hours after the prescription was sent to Walgreens by her doctor, I didn't see anything in the app and I hadn't received any calls or texts. I proactively called Walgreens and learned that they were out of stock (after waiting on hold for 10 minutes). I had to call them, and this made us lose 3 more hours. Walgreens told me they would transfer the prescription to CVS immediately. 45 minutes later I called CVS and was told Walgreens had not contacted them. They had no record of the Tamiflu for my daughter. The CVS pharmacist was very nice, assuring me they had plenty of Tamiflu in stock. The CVS pharmacy contacted Walgreens on my behalf to initiate the transfer. I highly encourage you to rethink using this Walgreens. The staff themselves are nice, but the pharmacy is in a continual state of chaos."

"I had a very bad experience at your Walgreen’s store located at 13926 Lee Hwy, Centreville, VA, 20120 on September 26th, 2023 at approximately 7:20 pm. An employee of the store telephoned me in the afternoon informing me that I needed to come and pick up my three month refill of Lisinopril that evening. I told him that I do not drive and needed to find transportation. I had to make special arrangements to get there. At the prescription window a team leader, Mubashar Cassandra Joe-Louis, said to me that I had no clue what I was talking about, that I was confused and I couldn’t distinguish a robocall from a live person. When I looked behind the prescription window I saw all the others laughing at me. I asked her about the guy who was laughing at me the most. Finally, the team leader admitted that a new employee, Yoali Mercado, called me in error. No apology, totally unprofessional treatment! Is this the expected customer service Walgreen’s provides to the public? Unbelievable disrespect which I have never seen before at this location……."

"I give a 1 only because the scale does not go lower. A RX was called in two days ago. I went to pick it up this afternoon, only to be informed that they did not have the medicine and would have to order it. Why didn’t they order it two days ago??!! The med is insulin and is critical in preventing death. Their incompetence did not stop there, however. They told me to go to a different specific Walgreens that DID have the Medicine I needed. However, they changed the order in the system to the brand name medicine which was 6 times the price of the generic, and the other Walgreens could not change it to the generic even though the original RX was for generic. The tech called them, of course they did not answer the phone. I had to call the dr and have a new RX called in. I am beyond livid. This incompetence should not be allowed or tolerated."
