Volunteer High School

"Multiple teachers I've had have called me and other student failures in front of the entire class. General level classes are typically overcrowded, its a wonder the fire martial hasn't taken care of that. Cafeteria food has gotten better over time, but a lot of the time there are culinary students preparing food, and I'm not happy about that... at all. The vocational building is overrun with mice and rats, and that's where 90% of students have to go for a class every day. There is leaks all over the school. One by the JROTC room is "taken care of" by custodians switching buckets out under neath the leak. Multiple cases of student-teacher relations have came to light over the last few years. Very few teachers are professional, and the use of forced child labor not for educational purposes is common practice. There are people selling drug, and common use af those drugs and tobacco, as well as students carrying knives and (girls) carrying pepper spray and other weapons. Vandalism is common and makes the school less sanitary and more dangerous. The student government is corrupted and certain people get more than equal treatment. There are backdoor sales and businesses going on in the school. Sports teams are heavily biased, which may contribute to the schools losing record in some bigger sports, and also the players tend to get special treatments. This school is like an 8th grade house party... welcome to a small town high school. "Eh, it's a bit unprofessional, unsanitary, and in poor condition, but it's not that bad with some of the teachers. I transferred here, and only thing I really like about Volunteer is the band program. Teacher makes sure his students prosper and makes sure the job is done, if it weren't for band I would rate it 1 star."

"Staff very unprofessional and don't do what they get paid for..honestly they have and act on the drama more than the kids that go there! Not clean even after they reopened from flu just sad excuse for teachers when a geometry teacher won't let a kid take a test she missed when at dr because everyone else failed..also he calls the kids failers to there faces and just pretty sad if you want the truth!! The only nice ppl are cafeteria workers super nice and talk like they are more educated than office workers for sure!!"

"The staff here is really unprofessional. Most of them just sit on their backside and play on their phones and just hand out packets to the students without teaching them anything. If they knew how to hire the teachers a little bit better then the school would probably be decent. It's a very unclean school too, I say that because there's roaches, gnats, and other vermin including MICE, and the whole school reeks of cigarette smoke. Food being served is also terrible."
