Reviews of The Round House
"Great venue, owned by the city. This house features a small kitchen and two bathrooms. It easily holds 60 or more people seated and there is a large hearth at the front of the room. There are mature trees next to the house and it is conveniently located close to 195. Fountain Lake is across the street and offers paddle boating in season. The house is surrounded by a by a beautiful established neighborhood, right in the center of Byrd Park."
"Picturesque views everywhere you turn. The lake is gorgeous especially as the sun sets. It is a lovely, family friendly, pet-friendly park. The Roundhouse is ideal for gatherings, particularly during this pandemic as the area around it is spacious enough for social distancing. The only caveat about this park is that at any given time the geese may outnumber the humans. Dozens and dozens of entitled geese expecting to be fed. Often. So if you're not a fan...heads up."
"Great little venue in Byrd Park where they are now having some great concerts. Saw a Tuvan folk duo that was amazing last Tuesday."
"My cousins rented the building so we could gather their and eat after their brother's funeral. When I got there, there were two men who worked for the park sitting on the steps. I spoke and told them it was very hot outside. One of them said it was even hotter in the rotunda. If they knew the air condition was broken, why the heck didn't they supply fans. I think it's a shame and highway robbery to charge people to rent buildings and not make sure they are equipped with heat and air. It was so hot in that building sweat was dripping from my hair. I left and had to drive 80 miles home with a headache. Supposed one or more people suffered heat stroke especially since the heat index was in the triple digits. My cousins deserve some of their money back. I know I will never think about renting the rotunda for nothing."
