"This facility lack intelligence and incompetence. VCU staff love to play in patients face utterly rude and disrespectful to patients. Report to management and they will gang together and lie on you. Young and older staff are Fake ignorant all the way down to the Nurse. Doctors need to stop speaking inappropriately about patients. It’s gets around the facility and the staff start to get a battery in back to treat you unprofessional. when you give report to nurse keep it about medication not why the patient is there and the circumstances. This behavior created a bias and they will laugh at you and talk about you. They aren’t professional at all. It’s all a mask. Lazy lazy lazy ignorant ignorant ignorant staff. They don’t register you in the proper way. You must hold the ticket up for them to punch in your information and you don’t even know what is going on. Ignorantly all around the infusion center and front desk of the hospital. They have it so good. It’s really nothing for them to do but to laugh and make fun of patients. They’re all friends it’s disgusting and disgraceful. VCU STAFF WILL TELL VIRGINIA RESIDENTS YOUR MEDICAL INFORMATION. Why are your staff so lazy and gossipy.. them misleading you is a high for them."
"I arrived in South Hill this morning very nervous about my dental appointment. Tanner, the girl at check in desk, noticed my discomfort and proceeded to put me at ease. She answered all my questions and assured me that I would be fine. Although my blood pressure registered a little higher than normal it was much lower than when I entered the building because of Tanner's calming attitude. Thank you VCUHealth for putting the correct people in positions that deal directly with the public."
"Went in for a simple same day surgery at the outpatient surgery clinic. Next day I couldn't walk. Got admitted to VCU for 10 days being sent to exams and different specialists and was discharged with no diagnosis as to why I still have this pain that has left me unable to put weight on my leg after having unrelated same day surgery.the hospitalistwas so rudeshe did not help at all. The nurse were amazing and the nurse had to advocate for me because the doctor refused to send me home with zero pain meds after being on a ketamine drip for 10 days!"
"The most transactional hospital ever. It's very distasteful and shows lack of sympathy for the patients. They requested a total amount from me while I was still in the hospital bed for Christ's sake. There are better & humane ways to receive payments from your patients. Unfortunately VCU is the closest proximity to me, but if I could..I would go elsewhere."
"Dr Chapman and his team took very good care of me. i had been having back and leg pain which made it difficult to walk. Based on a previous MRI Dr Chapman explained the problem and suggested a steroid injection to the lower back area would help. I shared with Dr Chapman a previous painful experience i had getting a shot with a different orthopedic practice. About a year before, I was having the same pain in my lower back and legs and was told an injection to the lower back would help. I was told that other than the initial insertion of the needle and a slight burning sensational as the medicine was injected there would be minimal to no pain. I wasn’t prepared for the extremely sharp pain that occurred during the procedure. I don’t know if a nerve or bone was accidentally nicked or what but the pain was excruciating. It only lasted a second or two but it was unbearable. My body immediately tensed up but I knew if I responded in anyway to the pain it would cause me even greater pain or worse. I told Dr Chapman that i understood I needed the shot but i was terrified. Dr Chapman prescribed me a mild sedative which i took before the procedure. I was still terrified and begged Dr Chapman to be honest with me about the pain I was going to experience. During the procedure Dr Chapman took a second to tell me what he was doing and the nurse(s) explained what was happening on a monitor the doctor was using to pinpoint the location of the injections. I never experienced any of the pain like i had with the previous injection. Afterwards I was so relieved that once i got back to my room I just started crying. The nurse was so kind and after a few minutes i was finally able to settle down. She then let me stay in the room so i didn’t have to go out with swollen eyes. Dr. Chapman was very attentive to my fears and I felt he cared about them. He asked questions about my experience and was patient while i explained my concerns. Before and during the procedure Dr. Chapman and his team did everything they could to make me feel safe and comfortable. Thank you to you all."
