Reviews of Jefferson College of Health Sciences
"They do not care about your education. They care about their pass rate for the Nclex so they make sure only the very smart kidfree make it. Do not go here!!"
"Over priced, too competitive, very arrogant school. Some of the requirements to be considered for the PA program are flat out stupid. I see a few people already mentioned the "patient interaction" nonsense they require. I feel like someone needs to tell the PA Admissions staff that wiping the butt's of patients as a CNA or NA in no way comes close to what PA's can expect to do, which begs the question "why require it", like seriously what is the point. Is it just busy body hours? You can't possibly think that working in an old folks home as a nurses aide in any way equates to what can be expected of a PA. Anyway, there are other programs that cost less, are less arrogant and less competitive than the PA program at JCHS."
"I truly don't understand how this school works. It's competitive to the point of absurdity. It feels like they are doing you a favor if they accept you, they seem willfully ignorant or completely blind to the fact that you are paying what is essentially a years salary simply to attend each year. I applied to the PA program, was not accepted despite already having a degree in Petroleum Engineering with a literal 3.9 GPA. Applied a second time after dedicating 2-3 hours nearly every day over an entire year, to get patient interaction hours. After finally getting 500hrs, I was told they needed 1000 hours of direct patient interaction. No thanks. Moved to TX, applied to PA program and was accepted first time. No hours required, and graduated Magna Cume Lada and am now a PA. Oh yeah, only paid $3,233.00 per semester vs $10,000.00."
"Overly competitive, extremely overpriced rivaling larger more staffed Ivy Leauge Schools in terms of cost. And the prerequisites for the PA program are boarder line "stupid". I cannot quit my job, to work somewhere for pennies, or worse for free simply to acquire and accumulate "patient interaction hours". I think they require 500 hours, it may be 1000 now, idk. Think about that for a moment. Think about how long it would take you, and what it would cost, to drive to and dedicate a few hours each day all in an effort to gain patient interaction points and pacify JCHS. ludicrous is what that is. Think about this, their acceptance rate is 35% and the graduate less than half that attend."
"Nursing program treats students horribly. Faculty make mistakes left and right, act rudely like they are doing you a favor to even show up. No common sense, no respect for people who are giving so much mentally, physically, and financially. Beware tuition advancement, they will fail you for stupid reasons and then all tuition they have advanced becomes your debt with no degree or career path to pay it off, I have seen friends hurt in this manner. Credits won't transfer, summer classes rarely to never available for those in traditional program. LOOK ELSEWHERE. The few good people and things are nothing compared to the endless negatives."
