Reviews of James Madison University Mineral Museum
"This place is a hidden gem itself. Not big or easy to find, but it is worth your while to spend an hour or so admiring some amazingly beautiful specimens."
"Great place to learn more about minerals. If you’re on campus and taking a walk this is a great place to stop and learn. The stones are beautiful and it’s easy to access from Grace st. Careful with the kiddos but they would probably love it too."
"This museum offers many different kinds of minerals in all different colors, shapes, and sizes. I have never seen so many minerals from all over the world before! I thoroughly enjoyed this visit and I am sure you will too!"
"*This is at door E or F on the building* Amazing collection from around the world, succinct descriptions and professional displays. Enjoyed browsing here for over an hour!"
"Although this collection resides in only one room, they have a large amount of specimens to enjoy. Each one provides a tag with the location of origin and type of mineral. They are divided by type. Some rocks are out in the open for close inspection. There is also a backroom that provides fluorescent specimens. Such beautiful rocks, colors, shapes, designs. I've been here more than once. You can appreciate it just as much each time you visit. I highly recommend visiting."
