Reviews of Jerry's Artarama Retail Stores - Virginia Beach
"I used my Christmas gift card to get some art supplies. Jerrys always has really cool stuff."
"I am a retired art teacher and have visited arts and crafts stores thousands of times. I usually have a good experience at Jerry's, but this time was much different. I went in today at 4 pm looking for an ultrafine crackle medium. After searching the store, I asked for help. The young girl led me over to only one medium, which was not appropriate for my project. I asked if it was maybe someplace else in the store. She said that was all the mediums they had and simply walked away from me. She did not offer to see if they had anything else or ask the other girl. After standing there for a short while, being completely ignored, I decided that it was best that I just leave. As I was leaving, the other girl behind the counter used a snide tone and said, "Have a great rest of your day!" Then, they both giggled. It was obvious she was implying that I was the one who was discourteous for walking out. I just felt that leaving was better than standing there while both of them ignored me. Go someplace else or order online. Just 2 months ago, someone else had basically the same experience I had, but she received an apology; I received excuses for bad behavior. Since the response to my post is drivel, I will respond with the truth. It is common decency not to walk away from a customer without saying a word. If your employee needs lessons on the basic manners society calls for, you need a new hire! As for you being busy helping someone else, I was the only customer in the store. As well, I have also dealt with every attitude in my life and career, and I know an insulting tone when I hear it! If the farewell was not meant to be derogatory, then why was there giggling and snickering after it was said? Furthermore, why did you sing-song your nasty farewell instead of asking me to come back so you could help me, as you mentioned? If you are the manager, then mere courteous customer service does not exist at this store!!"
"In a world full of Huge art/craft franchises be Jerry's Arterama. I live in Central PA and I'm so glad visited this store during vacation. Rows and rows and rows of art supplies. Rows and rows of canvas, sketchbooks etc. I loved the variety and accessibility of the supplies. This is a great place for beginners and experienced alike you can find full spectrum supplies for: painting, book making, screen printing, pastels, framing, clay, drafting etc. Oh how I wish this store was closer to me!"
"Our go to location for art supplies in Virginia Beach! The selection here is huge, prices are competitive and they're local. Plus, the staff lives and breathes art and are super friendly and helpful. Some things that make Jerry's a special find are they carry kiln fired clay, cotton canvas and arm stretchers in house. Come on down and give these great people a visit!"
