"Incredibly rude on the phone. When asking for information and checking hours, instead of simply conveying the correct information the man, who had an attitude from “hello” (we even had to ask if we were calling the correct number), who answered snapped back with “where do you think I am?” Seriously? That’s your response to a simple inquiry of ‘do you sell remnants and how long are you open to today? Avoid this place."
"Chuck is the Best. We shopped around. ABBEY WILL DO THE JOB RIGHT AND YOUR WIFE WILL THANK YOU. The installation crew is professional. You will love there work."
"This is Chuck Childress, Owner of Abbey Carpet. It recently came to my attention that we have some negative reviews about our business. The review from 2 years ago refers to an Albert. We have never had anyone with that name working for us. The one from 3 years ago is another job that our company did not do. There is another Abbey carpet located in Newport News and customers sometimes confuse our two stores. We take great pride in our work and have a great relationship with our customers. We never leave a customer unhappy. Thanks!"
"Having been raised in Hampton, VA, I was familiar with Abbey Carpet. However, I had never before done business with them. For the most part, I was very pleased with their customer service. I felt like their goal through the entire process was to make me happy with my floor purchases (carpet, luxury vinyl plank and bathroom tile) and installation of same. They were very accommodating with my schedule, and I am very pleased with my products. Any concerns I had were swiftly cared for, and I do believe I got a good, fair deal. My only concern was with the business end of the process. I had to pay close attention to the details of the charges to make sure they were accurate. However, any questions I had were quickly addressed and corrected as necessary. I do LOVE all of my floors, and I would choose Abbey Carpet again and recommend them to others."
"First off the Albert the salesman came over to my house and he is a complete jerk. No people skills whatsoever. Then I noticed within 60 days it is coming loose around the edges from the baseboard. In a high traffic area the carpet is fraying in the middle of the hallway. I went to see Albert who sat in his chair across the room to talk to me. Let me back track, I went with Abbey because Albert said I would have a year warranty on the carpet and I was in a bind and needed carpet quick. Then I go into get the carpet repaired under my warranty and the carpet with high traffic is not covered because it was fraying and ripping with us walking over it. He said it was our negligence, which yes he is right I DID WALK on my own carpet. His big sales pitch at the beginning was how it was real durable and good in high traffic areas. How else would carpet begin fraying? What is the carpet for? Then instead of even seeing the damage and seeing if he could have it fixed he instead came up with some plan to replace the whole hallway with new carpet at a higher price. I get it that carpet will fray and damage, but this has only been within 6 months. I feel after all the money I spent with Albert they should replace the small area with no questions in the first year. Also, I told him I would never use him again on the phone at my work. Then he called right back and cursed on the phone on a voice mail message. I let the office listen so they too would never use them. Too bad for Abbey too, because I have rental houses and friends with rental houses. I will never use them and please never use them yourself. Albert really does not care and you can sense it when you talk to him."
