"LAWFIRM LACKING EXPERIENCE I specifically called this law firm for an immigration issue for one of my family members. I had seen good reviews, they were really pleasant on the phone and I was very excited to speak with them at my appointment. A few days before my consultation appointment, I received a call from Gardner & Mendoza law firm stating they were not capable/experienced to handle my case and referred me to another firm outside the area. I was confused, as they had no detailed information (besides the brief summary during my initial call) about the issue, so I was not sure why they were so quick to refer, without even listening to my case. I had already paid the consultation fee. I was very upset, as I had not done any research on the other firm. I did not want this, but they assured me I was in 'good hands' as this was their 'sister firm'. They did refund my consultation fee. The experience I have had with their 'sister firm' has been atrocious. First, the lawyer that was assigned to me for the consultation was not very personable and very negative. I did not get a good feeling, but I decided to retain him for at least one service in order to take advantage of using my referral fee towards a service. The lawyer is not responsive and does not seem to care about my case or providing me the service we agreed upon. I sent him documents he requested and I have received no answer. I called him and he said he was behind on some stuff and would respond to my email and never did. I am very disappointed. I do have some fault in this. When Gardner & Mendoza law firm told me they were not qualified to handle my case, I should have thanked them and looked for the next law firm myself. UPDATE IN RESPONSE: I have edited my review and deleted my statement claiming 'incompetence'. I understand your point and appreciate your attempt to try to refer me to a law firm with more experience in this particular case. However, I did choose your firm and was hoping the case be reviewed by your firm, which was my main disappointment. It is also fair to state that after submitting review I did speak with the owner of your sister firm and she was very kind and accommodating."
