Reviews of Royal Nails Spa
"Absolutely horrible do not come here under any circumstances. $85 for a toe color change and a simple dip manicure. Other places right down the road are $45 for this same service. The place is absolutely disgusting and dirty and the people are not nice and do not care about what they are doing. Do. Not. Come. Here. I also showed them a picture of what I wanted and my nails looks absolutely nothing like the picture I showed."
"Should have read the reviews BEFORE. I came once before a few years ago and didn’t like it. But, needed a manicure in a pinch so settled. It’s gotten worse. The place isn’t clean, at all. The manicure was not exactly ok. No 2 nails shaped the same, or same length. The part that really irks me is that the polish started to chip after less than 48 hours. I’m not talking chipped because of activity. I’m talking holding a pen to write and having chips of polish appear on the paper. By end of the week, had almost half of my polish gone. Where I usually go, a manicure lasts 10-14 days. Never again. I’ll take polish all the way off if I need a quick fix."
"Worst place ever! Way over priced! Didn’t offer everything on the menu. Offer treatments and don’t provide the service. False advertisement! The man and the older woman are very rude. Avoid at any means possible! $200 for 1 mani and pedi and 1 gel mani and 1 gel pedi."
"READ THE YELP REVIEWS! I wish I did. This was probably the worst service I have ever had. From the beginning, I gave them a design and told them what I wanted. I asked for a price and they would not tell me. As the service continued I kept asking for a price I was told the classic pedi was 25 with and extra 15 for gel. I asked them again before I had them put a design on my nail (which was a tiny heart) and they shook their head no. I wanted french tips and a gel white pedicure and was charged $140. When I asked for my total I was taken aback. When I asked why it was so much and how much each service costed, they would not give me answer. The pictures I took were 30 minutes after I left the store. I am only rating them one star because my nails on my left hand were good but my right hand lacked consistency and was sloppy. I do not recommend spending your money here. I feel scammed. The customer service lacked and the service itself is extremely over priced for the product you get."
"When we walked in the shop was very hot. It also looked cluttered. There were supplies all over the manicure stations. I gave 2 stars because the pedicure wasn’t bad. The guy who did my pedicure did a good job and the lady who did my husband’s pedicure did a good job, but the tools they use are recycled between the clients. So cleanliness is definitely questionable. Another guy started taking off my dip while I was getting my pedicure. He allowed them to soak for maybe two minutes before he went to town with the drill. When he was done, there was still some of the old color on my nail bed. When he started to apply the dip, i noticed that the product he was using wasn’t in a labeled container. This is concerning for me, so i clarified that it was dip power he was using. He said that it was. Anyways, he did clear dip powder and gel on top to match the gel on my toes. The gel was messily painted on. It looks lumpy. It was also unevenly placed in some spots (meaning i could see the clear dip through the color), but he did fix that before i left. I asked for a square round shape and he seemed to struggle to barely give me that. I had polish on my cuticles and he wasn’t able to get all of it off. Just watching the way he applied the dip, I’m sure my nails won’t last. This is the first nail shop I’ve tried in Charlottesville. Hopefully the next one i try will be better."
