"My then 2 yr-old had a great class with Ms. Michelle and Ms. Jenna. My shy girl took a while to warm up but loved her teachers pretty quickly. We willl continue to go to this preschool until she starts at Grassfield. My only annoyance is the lack of technology and updates. Emails would make contact much easier. I also appreciated pictures from my older kid's past schools but didn't get any here. Unsure if that varies on teacher though"
"After horrible experiences, with a "teacher" at Great Bridge Preschool and Kindergarten last year, it is so refreshing to have such a wonderful, caring teacher as Ms. Alyla at Childtime in Virginia Beach. Ms. Alyla held a ringbearer rehearsal for the class, when she heard my grandson was to be one. Yesterday, she went home at lunch to change into her Pacman shirt, because he had his Pacman shirt on. Every child deserves to have a teacher like Ms. Alyla and thank you Childtime for giving my grandson the chance to have a fantastic year before kindergarten."
"After our experience back in October 2018, I strongly caution against this "school" if you have a child with any sort of attention issues, such as ADHD or a child who is working through a traumatic loss. They are completely unwilling to work with you and your child and will give up on them in a heartbeat. One teacher in one of the pre-k rooms truly has no business being a "teacher"...when I was a pre-k teacher I would have been fired if I called out of work because I needed to be away from one specific student. And for the center's DIRECTOR to say this to the parents, let alone IN FRONT OF THE CHILD was so unbelievably unprofessional. A child is dealing with an attention issue and was on the wait list for a behavioral therapist, was still dealing with the loss of a baby brother, had never been in a school setting before and was given a total of seven half days over a months time to adjust! The teachers asked for helpful ways to refocus him and then not once bothered to even try the tools provided by the parents. There they sat in his backpack, untouched. He was instantly labeled a problem after his FIRST DAY because he got frustrated writing his name and had a hard time sitting still. His first day in school EVER. He was labeled aggressive after two hitting incidents over a week's time, of course he shouldn't have hit, no one wants to hear another child hit their kid and he was spoken to about it by parents and grandparents, but to throw a kid out after two times? If we had kicked out kids after just two incidents where I worked we wouldn't have had many students. In Pre-K children are LEARNING right from wrong and need guidance from both parents and teachers. Instead of calling the parents in for a meeting to discuss what exactly had been going on, what lead to the hitting, what was done and said by the teachers, ways to correct it and work on it, we are called in and immediately told that our child is kicked out. My child was given no love, no chance, no support from anyone in this "school". There was zero communication from anyone. Because he couldn't sit still, liked to hum music and pretend, got frustrated, and hit twice out of aggravation at AGE 4, he was made out to be an uncontrollable monster and all of this was said in front of him. I get that my kid can be trying, but to give up so quickly on a child of four years of age when you knew he was in the process of getting the help he needed? My husband was promised a refund of the registration fee and a pro-rated refund for the remainder of the month in which they kicked our child out. Do you think we ever received that refund? No. No we did not. I have talked about this with many different people to make sure my husband and I didn't just have mom and dad goggles on, and every single person was appalled and asked what school this was so they don't consider it as an option. This is other teachers, other parents, behavioral health therapists, extra curricular instructors. I needed to know that feeling this angry was warranted and according to them, yes. It still keeps me up at night wondering what these teachers said to my child, how they treated him. My husband (who gives all people the benefit of the doubt and sees the good in people) one day after dropping our kid off asked me "is it just me or does the one teacher look really unhappy the second she sees our kid?" I said "I thought I was imagining it but if YOU noticed it ,too? Then yes, she downright looks like she loathes our child." Can you imagine how that makes a parent feel? It broke our hearts. This same teacher gave our child the nastiest, coldest look when she returned to the room and found that he had one of her books that the other teacher let him hold so he could show his father because he loved the story so much. So, I truly hope that teacher finds what her real passion in life is because teaching four year olds should not be it. If I could say one thing to her it would be this "How would you have felt knowing a teacher, someone you were supposed to trust to nurture your child, hated them instead?""
"This school is judge mental and not a positive loving environment for kids..They don’t truly care for the kids.ive heard teachers yelling at the kids. Not ok! Another mom had some of the same experiences I did I see on her review as well! Mary Sue is very rude and snippy.Rude and unfriendly to children to."
