"I don't like how most of the teachers interact with the 3, 4, and 5 year olds. Practically every time I go in the school with my granddaughter there's a child screaming and crying. Why is that? They take those babies outside in the cold when the temperatures are for instance 31 degress with the wind chill 21 degrees. I know the average parent does not take there child on no playground at these ages to play but Kipp. The times we live in now I just wish cameras could be put in all classrooms of children from pre-school to kindergarten with those classes being monitored. When my kids was in school I screened there teacher.s why because all teachers aren't teachers its a paycheck, and at Kipp most of the teachers are Caucasian and if you think none of them aren't racist you are wrong."
"I absolutely think this school is a joke. The curricular and SOME of the teachers are terrible. They have little to no experience with children and the disciplinary aspect nor concerned about progress . It's just a front I wouldn't put my dog in this school. I have never been to such a terrible school. The principle is another story. Please if you care about your child's safety and EDUCATION you wouldn't send them to this school. Thank god I didn't put my child through their circus. I will most likely report this to the superintendent office as well. The Kipp in SE is a great school....Matter fact any other Kipp but this one they really need to reevaluate who they hire to teach and lead our future."
"**update* We've decided to move on.. Bye Kipp! Bullying is downplayed at this school by the very people who are supposed to keep children safe. I have talked to everyone who teach my child and the principal. I'm always told it didn't happen. Nobody else saw it happen. How come my child didn't say anything? Etc. Well my child always says something to me and like I said when it is told to the teachers it is downplayed. They went as far as telling me the other child and my child just don't like each other and the hitting/name calling is both sided. If that is the case then how come it is my child who always has the issues and comes home telling me about an incident? If that isn't bad enough my child is always removed from the situation being sent to the back of the class or to another classroom. That seems like a punishment towards my child. This has been going on since the beginning of the school year. At one point I felt like I wanted to take my child out of the school. But why should I uproot my child who does have a good/healthy relationship with many teachers/other children at this school? And my child is also learning well and is doing good academically, but my child can certainly excel at any school. If my child does return to this school they are going to be taking bullying more serious, paying more attention, and doing things to make sure it is stopped. No more downplaying and blaming the victim! Stop aiding the bully and blaming the victim! Thank God my child knows that I am listening, I care, and I do believe that it is happening. Thank God my child is not giving up that it can be stopped!"
"MY child attends Kipp on P st. I am please with the structure that is require of a student and the educational program is execellent. I appreciate that the teachers take the ability to inform you not only is your child is out of order but when they are doing good as well. The teachers take the time to make sure your child understands and it has additional programs to help . Also I like that Kipp prepares our children for college. This is important to me. Ms. Hamlett"
"Great school. One if my children attends this Kipp location. The teachers served to be very focused on educating the children. They are very strict (which is a good thing). I do not see this attention to detail in other schools not other Kipp locations. Both child and parent get reprimanded for being even a minute late. Progress reports accompany my child home each week with strengths and weaknesses. It's really a great program they're running at this locations. Hopefully the other Kipp locations and other schools in the district will follow, and soon."
