"Food was okay. Not outstanding but just okay. Atmosphere was decent, enjoyed the live piano as well but it was kind of chilly as it’s in a large room that feeds right into the main entrance. Arrived at 1pm for a 1:15 appt. We didn’t actually get the food until a little after 1:30pm. Prior to that they served tea which was the biggest upset. The tea was tepid. I asked several times for hotter water and they couldn’t deliver. I wasn’t the only one. The guests across from us had the same issue and I told them I didn’t think they could get the water any hotter. I don’t know what the reason was. That’s actually the main thing that kept the experience from being more enjoyable. After I added a bit of sugar and some milk the tea was well on its way to being cold. I’ve had better tea service overall. I also had the feeling that they were understaffed which is why service took so long. Waitress was perfectly fine. Great and pleasant attitude. The main issue was the just okay food and the lukewarm tea."

"As a local, I frequent the Raleigh Room on Thursdays for the Bubbles Night Happy Hour and the atmosphere is second to none in Virginia Beach. The cocktails are superb and staff is friendly and attentive. This is often the busiest night of the week. Madeline, one of the cocktail servers, always takes great care of me and my group of friends when we visit. She greets us with a smile, knows exactly what we want and how we like it. Her great service never fails and she is truly one of the most genuinely nice people you will ever meet anywhere! Thank you Madeline for making so many Thursdays the best night of the week! I hope management appreciates you as much as we do!"

"We went for high tea while on vacation. It was really nice! The Cavalier vanilla tea is delicious and the tea set is beautiful. There was a pianist playing beautifully in the background( he took requests). They also only provide Valet service but if you stay at one of the resorts around, they can give you a ride over on the golf cart :) All in all an enjoyable experience!"

"The ambience is mid-century chic, posh but not heavy handed, light and airy. My friends and I were here for Mother's Day afternoon tea. Made reservations for 4 a month ahead of time, called to add one more person the day of, and was told I can't. Quite surprising considering this is Marriott property, always accommodating especially to its lifelong Marriott Rewards members. It wasn't even crowded, had some families sitting around and they weren't even having tea. There were only 5 kinds of tea to choose from. Wish they served one big pot for each person over warming candle just like other high end afternoon tea places like Ritz Carlton. Here all 4 of us had to share a small pot of hot water which we had to pour over tea leaves, can't benefit from full steeped tea flavor! Our of the finger sandwiches I only liked the curry chicken salad in a croissant. Desserts were very tiny (1 inch cube) of chocolate cake with hazelnut frosting, watermelon/raspberry cake, macarons that weren't crunchy flaky and filling wasn't decadent. Only friendly service was truly notable. Just wish they'll offer more."
