Reviews of Quemar
"This here is the spot! We went a little after they opened at 4pm and sat at the bar. The atmosphere was relaxed and bartender was very attentive and knowledgeable about the food and drinks. They offer a small happy hr on the weekend which was definitely worth everything we paid. I would definitely recommand and return."
"The way that this new food culture is moving in the 757 is in need of some help. We want good food and drinks at a reasonable price. Yes of course we want to sit inside a place that has a great ambiance, entertainment and a just overall great vibe… but if the food and drinks aren’t hitting, we as a community will not frequent at that establishment. Quemar was beautiful and the service was great but the food was not that good. I got a burger because I saw the pictures of food and could tell it was going to be mid. The burger was good but I mean can you really mess up a burger. Loaded Yuka was not for me, that is an acquired taste. The margaritas were extremely sour. My wife got the rockfish special, it tasted like charred fish. No seasoning or even a lemon wedge. She had to send it back, it would’ve been torture to eat. She got the birria enchiladas intatead… terrible as well but more flavorful than the fish. Queso fundido is just melted cheese in a skillet… and it’s not even that much but it’s over 14$. And if you don’t eat it within 2 minutes it turns into a block of mozzarella cheese. Overall, it’s a nice place to take pictures and post on your Facebook or Ig story and say look I went to this “fancy restaurant”… but in reality Taco Bell could do better. Sorry Quemar but y’all gotta focus more on the taste of your food a drinks not just what everything looks like."
"Giving this one a 3 unfortunately. Food was great but the service wasn’t the best in my opinion. For starters we were ordering tapas style for a party of two and sharing everything. A few apps came out before cocktails and the server didn’t offer share plates/drop any off, we had to ask someone else in passing. We kept having to ask for water refills when all surrounding tables had their own water bottle. Lastly went there to celebrate a birthday, requested a candle in dessert and didn’t receive one, pretty disappointing after spending $180 before tip and only coming here to celebrate the occasion. To top it all off when leaving the valet gave us the wrong car key, we drive a Tesla and the valet couldn’t start our car for a while, it was visible from the front door so my bf told them not to worry and we got it ourselves since we can operate the car from our app. As we were pulling out they ran over to tell us they swapped our keys with someone else and that’s why they couldn’t get it to start..we switched keys back and left. Again food was great, but the service gaps didn’t align with the restaurant’s prices and ambiance."
"I wasn't too impressed with the menu selection. It was a bit limited. However, the food was well seasoned. I took issue with the $1 charge for extra crema; the nachos were huge but lacked crema/sauce, making them a tad dry. My biggest issue was that the portions were disproportionate to the price. The waitress was attentive and courtesy. The valet staff were wonderfully pleasant."
