"We had the best dinner we’ve had since moving here on Saturday night at the Black Olive. Our server Austin was AMAZING! He knew the menu from the food to the bar inside and out. He was friendly and knowledgeable, exactly what I love to have in my server! Our food was EXCELLENT! It was so hot from the oven I couldn’t start eating right away, the way it should be! The guy singing and playing guitar set the perfect atmosphere! Our drinks were delicious and for the price I can’t think of a better restaurant in the country! My husband was a chef in the past, I’m usually satisfied but not ecstatic about food from most restaurants! The foot at the Black Olive was top notch! To top it off the chef came to our table! Alfredo, you are the man! We will be back and I will tell everyone how much we loved the restaurant. We had the best time and the best food with the best company! Austin, thank you for making our night so enjoyable and being right on time with everything, and just a great guy! We not wait to come back and eat again! I know it will be amazing! "Fantastic meal!! My husband and I shared the Chicken Primavera with gluten free noodles and asked for added spiciness. It was great!! It's hard to find any good gluten free food anywhere. Mother in law had the Lemon Chicken soup and said it was very good. Now she wants a recipe so she can make it at home. They also served the freshest warm bread to go with the meal. I love this place!!"

"The greeters are friendly and knowledgeable about specials. The waitress was very nice and helpful. The cook was friendly and was very helpful in explaining how they cook things and was happy to accommodate for allergy concerns. The food was absolutely wonderful. I had the shrimp artichoke angel hair pasta. Perfect combination of capers, olives, tomatoes and shrimp. My husband had manicotti and it was done perfectly, not too al dente. And we had the Alfredo stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer… meaty mushrooms drowned in delicious Alfredo cheese. The chocolate covered strawberry drink was also amazing. I highly recommend eating here. The restaurant is immaculately clean. The atmosphere is Italian casual. Simple but elegant."

"Every time I’ve been to Black Olive I have had zero complaints! The food and drinks are always delicious, service is excellent, and the atmosphere is charming and peaceful. We brought our dogs for dinner on the outdoor patio and couldn’t have been happier - had a wonderful waitress, Sealea, delicious food and wine, and the live music was just right - relaxing and not so loud that you couldn’t hold a conversation with the table. We will definitely be back soon!"

"Heard about this place by my coworker. This place is located downtown Johnson city. Very nice place and the atmosphere in the restaurant was quiet, peaceful and relaxed. The staff was very nice and our waiter was very friendly and attentive. We ended up just getting pizza and their garlic bread knots with mozzarella cheese and it was all so good. The sauce was not spicy, or too sweet just right. I would definitely eat here again. Highly recommend."
