"This being our second Pello, I feel like we've had a chance to get well acquainted with the brand (and the owner's commitment to it). Shane does extensive research into the components he chooses, and the geometry of the bikes he builds. We started out with the Reddi 20" as my son's first "real" bike when he was five and put it through the ringer on streets, trails, and bike paths over the course of two years and it held up beautifully. Never had to replace a single part, and when we sold it to upgrade to the Reyes 24" it held its value! Now over two years into owning the Reyes, we just now got to the point of needing a chain replacement -- that was it. No other upgrades from the stock components necessary, even for riding the local trails. I can't recommend the brand highly enough, and I see them around town being ridden by the kids of other families as well. Everyone seems to agree that they're excellent bikes, and even if priced a little higher than the big-box alternatives, we strongly believe we have gotten more than our money's worth out of them."
"We bought the Pello Romper last summer for our daughter, who had just turned 4. We also bought the training wheels and the fly wheel. These bikes are very light and have quality components. Our daughter has learned to ride without training wheels in less than 6 months. She also knows how to use the hand brakes since we removed the coaster break and used the fly wheel instead. These bikes are much lighter than a typical big box store bike, which makes learning to ride a bike much easier for a toddler. There was a little bit of adjustment for the hand breaks for kid since she has small hands. I have only a small amount of knowledge on bike adjustments and I figured it out with no issues. We had previously tried a Strider bike and she hated it because it wasn’t a big kid bike. We will be buying a second Pello Romper for our son. These bikes are worth the price and I don’t hesitate to recommend them."
"I purchased a Pello for my 4 year old son. Not only is the quality amazing for a first “real” bike…it’s amazing for a bike period. I wanted to make sure his younger brother would be able to enjoy it as well once he outgrew it. The components and materials are grade A. I was able to secure a prior model year that arrived quickly and in perfect condition. Assembly was easy just be sure to reinspect all bolts after riding for a bit. I highly recommend this company."
"We purchased our first Pello when our daughter was young and so was this company. That bike was amazing, and my son is now learning to ride it, these things are great bikes, but proportioned correctly for kids. Several years later or daughter outgrew that frame size, and they gave us a returning customer discount on the next size up, it has some upgrades from the previous style (their bikes now have disc brakes etc) but still outstanding components and another phenomenal bike. It is on the hook in the garage for the next generation, still in great shape. These things are amazing, super happy customer and can't recommend highly enough. I wish they made adult bikes, great component selection by their team for each frame size."
"Pello made a special rush to deliver a Rover just in time for my son's fifth birthday, which was a huge smash. He has been riding it on trails in the PacNW ever since. The geometry, low weight and especially the disk brakes make it super easy for him to handle gnarly MTB terrain."
