"I would like to thank Robert for the awesome job he did on my crank for my Pontiac 400 engine which we are building it’s gonna be awesome when it’s done thank you"
"I dropped off my motor 14 months ago. Yes that’s right 14 months. I finally had to get angry to get the motor finished. When I picked up my motor the pickup tube, oil pan and pan bolts were missing. After over a year, now we are trying to find my parts. If you’ve seen this shop you’d completely understand why the parts were lost. My father has used Johnson’s multiple times over the years and this is why I chose to use them. After this experience, there will never be another motor taken here by either of us. My father has his own reasons, let’s just say he’s having to put another motor in the Henry J, after 1 season. I’ve never experienced this type of service in my life and hopefully never will again."
"Shop quoted 400 to install hardened seats and rebuild cylinder heads. I supplied seats but told them I was not sure if correct. He told be they were and the same ones he had. I was quoted 300 to bore my block 30 over. Estimated time given was 4 days. 3 weeks later I got the heads back. The surface finish was around 500rms and should have been 120 rms or less. He said that it was fine. I pulled the valves and found that the pockets were machined so deep that there was no longer any land for the seat to be against for about 30 percent of the circumference. He said he would install larger diameter seats. Another week goes by then he tells me that the heads are fine and he is not fixing. All along he kept saying the block would be done each week. I gave him a few more day and after thinking about the heads I had to pull my work from him. Another machine shop confirmed that the heads were not useable as is. The pockets should not have been so deep, and the surface finish was unsat. He charged me 450 for the heads, 50 more then quoted and another 100 for the cleaning. The heads are unusable and not easily repaired. When picking up my parts he tossed my main caps in a box a foot away from him. Each part smashing into the previous part. Not a good way to handle machined parts that must fit together. I owned a automotive repair shop for 7 years and have had a lot of machining work done over the years. Glad I found these problems before installing. If he had communicated time delays and provided a better quality product I would not have left a review. Will post pics as well, so you can make your own judgment."
"I had a crankshaft that needed to be turned & Bob did a great job & was very friendly. He got it finished when he said it would & it looks great. The shop has all the equipment to do head or block work, & the prices are great to. If you need some machine work done, this is the place to go."
"I had some machine work done on my truck here, and the service was top-notch very professional and even willing to show me how some of the machinery works will definitely receive my future business."
