So far my insurance has been paying the total cost for my crowns, so the staff let me know my bill is 0.00. So far I've been treated with respect and I will continue to do business with them in the near future."

"Dr. Liz [Dr. Elizabeth Hering, DDS] of Konikoff Dental Associates Battlefield Boulevard is a caring, compassionate pediatric dentist. Our family has a child who needs specialized dental care due to severe dental anxiety (honestly, nothing any dentist ever did)--and Dr. Liz is calm and skilled. The dental hygienists at Konikoff Dental Associates Battlefield Boulevard also deserve a lot of credit. They are sooo patient with my child. Due to the dental anxiety, my child really struggled with the sensation of the vacuum, and therefore the cleanings took probably three times as long as normal. Also my child had tons of questions to be answered, due to dental anxiety. With patience that amazed me, they answered all the questions with grace and kindness. They displayed true caring. She WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND, trying to treat him with nitrous oxide (laughing gas) as well as a swallowable medicine to calm him down, but the anxiety and the STRONG gag reflex was just too much. My poor child just cannot tolerate medicine, and the dental procedure was just not possible in office (mainly due to the strong gag reflex). Dr. Liz is my hero. She was so patient and understanding. Ultimately, Dr. Liz performed the dental procedure in a local children's hospital's surgical suite--and it was a SUCCESS! The hardest part of the whole process was getting our insurance to approve it--but that is another story. Dr. Liz was amazing!!! I can tell she really genuinely cares about my son and our family. In addition to Dr. Liz, I have to give a SHOUT OUT of PRAISE to Marie (the Office Manager of Konikoff Lynnhaven). Marie is awesome!!!!!!! She worked so hard, putting in so many hours, in order to help me communicate with my medical insurance regarding the in-surgical suite general anesthesia (as my insurance initially kept denying it). Thank you, Marie!! You really saved the day. Thank you, Dr. Liz! I will always appreciate you. Most importantly, my child was able to get the dental treatment needed! Such a relief! If you live in the Tidewater area (Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, and Portsmouth) and have a child, I recommend you take your child to Dr. Liz of Konikoff Dental Associates Battlefield Boulevard for cleanings and all dental needs."

"The dentist (heavyset blonde older woman) was so rude, the office staff on the phones were rude despite me being overly kind to them. You would think the holidays would soften them, but no. Quanita-or something to that effect didn’t realize I had my insurance agent on the phone and was rough talking to me until she realized I wasn’t an island alone. They didn’t file my claim with insurance and were trying to charge me almost $200 and for three or so months no one would help me and there was the excuse there never was an Office Manager ever. They don’t return voicemails and get this they get mad at you for asking for the billing/claims department and they say they don’t have one and can’t answer questions. If I didn’t have my insurance company on the phone I would still be in trouble waiting and going to collections. I will never come back this is the worst dentist and all my other dentist offices over the years have been amazing and never had billing issues!!! They filed my daughter’s insurance claim no issue, but couldn’t answer one question over three months of calls. It’s like they were just trying to see if I would pay. I have never had a bad dentist visit until now and it sucks because I was excited about Konikoff having the kids department and it being in Greenbrier very convenient for when we eventually sell our house and move to Greenbrier. Now I have to find a new place. It all could have been different if the dentist wasn’t a b word and the phone staff didn’t scoff and lie. I’m a nurse, but before my medical training I worked call centers I know how to help people and seeing how these people just didn’t try is appalling in the business they are in with tons of people coming through their doors. Praying I was just a one time occurrence, but military wives in the area all say stay away from Konikoff so I’m starting to think not :("

"Ive been with Konikoff for about 2 years now and I have no complaints every time I visit Konikoff the experience is great. The ladies at the front are always nice and friendly. The wait time is very reasonable. Dr. Matiko is wonderful she always makes sure I'm comfortable and informed, her assistants are great as well and helping me love my smile again and getting me back on the right track with my dental hygiene!"
