"Wow! Store has been around for 150 years! Small store front, full of Mr Peanut memorabilia! The current owners are friendly and knowledgeable about their products. When I grew up in Connecticut, there was a Mr Peanut store in Hartford but it closed over 40 years ago! Great memories! They have a great mail order business as well! I'm ordering more peanut squares for Christmas. Good place to stop for a quick trip down memory lane!"

"Planters Honey Roasted Peanuts: Planters was founded by Italian immigrant Amedeo Obici in 1906. It wasn't until 1916 though that the company's icon Mr. Peanut was created. Supposedly a grade schooler by the name of Antonio Gentile designed Mr. Peanut for a contest conducted by the company. Mr. Peanut is the icon although he has changed somewhat over the years. Their honey roasted peanuts are made by taking whole peanuts and then dry roasting them with honey and seasoned with salt. As much as I enjoy peanut butter (I eat it daily) I've never been a fan of consuming actual nuts. You all know I have a sweet tooth though, so I am willing to make an exception when sweet honey is added into the mix. I've loved honey since I was five years old and would dip my Chicken McNuggets into it. "We stopped by today after seeing some Planters Peanut nostalgia at the train station in Suffolk. It was a cute little store but the best part was the owner! She absolutely sweet and friendly as can be. Plenty of southern charm. We are so glad we stopped!"

"We had a great time! It was smaller than we expected, but Faye made our visit fantastic. It was interesting to see the changes on the planters peanut logo over time. I loved the antique peanut roaster they had going. A variety of great to choose from. We went with a couple of the most popular items: peanut squares and butter toffee pecans."
