"They can't make or repair partial dentures, they will charge you and your insurance. But the quality of said partial will be poor. They will not get pre authorization from you insurance unless required even if it is recommended. Then when you receive a 1000 bill in the mail and you call about it. They claim they will "look into it and call you back"...they won't. Would not go back."

"I visited Gray Station Dental on December 20, 2023 for a routine cleaning and dental exam. I have been a patient at Gray Station Dental for 15 years. Prior to today, and on multiple occasions, I have had to reschedule my dental cleanings due to scheduling issues with their hygienists on staff. For my most recent scheduling, I was contacted late notice (less than 24 hours prior) and was asked to reschedule the appointment due to a conflict with their staffing. I have always been accommodating and understanding of the fact that they are frequently short-staffed and I reschedule accordingly. Upon arrival, I was introduced to a hygienist that I had never met, who informed me that due to office policy, all patients are required to have a 3D panoramic x-ray of their teeth (if they have not had one done in the last five years). The 3D panoramic x-rays, although preventative, are not always covered by dental insurance. I told the hygienist that I did not consent to a panoramic x-ray of my teeth without first confirming that my insurance would cover the charges. I did not wish to be faced with a costly and large out of pocket bill should my insurance not cover this. I was met with disdain by the hygienist. She was ineffective in her skills, painful, and rushed throughout the procedure. She finished cleaning my teeth, and went to get the dentist on staff, Andrew McBride, DDS. He came to the exam room, did not introduce himself, did not offer any welcome remarks, and I was once again treated with disdain due to wanting to contact my insurance company prior to authorizing the costly 3D panoramic x-ray. I told him that I had had bitewings done at the last exam, and that they already had a panoramic x-ray on file for me. He said that because the x-ray on file was 6-years-old - that he could not treat or diagnose me without a more recent panoramic x-ray. I informed him and the hygienist on staff that I wished to phone my insurance, to be certain that I would not be met with future out-of-pocket expenses. He told me that I was able to contact the insurance company myself and once I did, the exam could continue. I left the examination room, contacted my insurance company and found out that the x-ray would be covered by my insurance since I had not had one done in the last three years. I informed the receptionist of this, and she asked me to wait. Dr. McBride came into the waiting room and dismissed me as a patient of the clinic. He stated that "due to my dissatisfaction with scheduling and my reluctance to perform the x-ray, that this office would no longer be a good fit for me." He said that my dental records could be transferred to a new office once I located one of my choosing. I am writing this review to make others aware of the ineptitude of this office. Patients should be told in advance that it is a requirement that they receive a 3D panoramic x-ray. All patients do not have dental insurance. It's a common courtesy to be informed of potential financial charges prior to the procedure occurring. Andrew McBride, DDS is rude and it's a shame that Dr. Turner has taken him on as a business associate. Dr. Richard Turner and his wife Teresa are kind people. He is a great dentist, and if it were not for Dr. McBride - I would not be writing this review. Problematically, Dr. Turner is oftentimes not at the office. In these instances, patients are met with lackluster staff and an unprofessional and unpleasant experience. I did nothing wrong to cause dismissal. I simply contested potential charges and complained about scheduling issues and lack of transparency. I was not combative or disrespectful. I have always paid dental bills in full and on time. Dr. McBride is not someone you want to do business with. Find a better office, with more consistent scheduling and professional hygienists. 100% do not recommend."
