"If you don’t have proper health insurance I wouldn’t go. They have you waiting after 6:20 until they decide to open, which makes no sense because of the amount of people in line and it’s first come first serve before 7. They’re rude and get away with it because they know people need healthcare & majority of the people who come are minorities. My friend said the nurse Jodi Yonts rudely told him to go back to his car then when she came to sign him up she brought her boss who asked if there was an issue with her employee. I was shocked hearing how this was handled so unprofessionally, Charlottesville has to do better."
"How wonderful to have a place to go for working people who can not afford health insurance. We are able to get good medical care, our prescriptions are free, though a $3 donation per prescription is appreciated. The volunteers are kind and non judgemental. If you're a hard working person who can't afford insurance, please make an appointment to see if you qualify. Wonderful."
"My mom is in severe pain, and has been struggling for weeks with her tooth ache without any dental insurance or a way to afford it. I saw all the amazing reviews about how friendly the staff was and how great this place is- so I was very happy that my mom was going to be in good hands. We arrived to the location for a dental walk-in at 7:30 am. I was told on the phone (and the website also says) that registration begins at 7:30 as do walk-ins on Wednesdays. Once we got inside the interaction we had with the front desk felt a little bit strange- the woman told us that they were at full capacity and that people come as early as 4:00 am. When I asked if that meant their office was open at that time she said no- people just line up. No one on the phone said anything about being able to line up and I also feel that it is kind of bit sad to allow all these people who are obviously struggling without insurance to line up at 4:00 am and wait that many hours in the freezing cold air. Also, when we were first trying to find the door for the clinic- we saw an employee opening a side door and we were no where near her when we heard her say something to us. My mom mistakely thought she said "you can come in this way" but when I got closer she yelled at me "YOU CANT COME IN" and was incredibly rude despite us not asking or trying to go into the door she was opening. That's when I realized my mom had heard her scream "you cant come in". There was something that felt slightly racist about this exchange- as my mom is an Asian woman. Overall, I am extremely distraught and upset with how my mother and I were treated."
"Everyone is so kind and very helpful. I really wish I had registered sooner! I feel a lot better knowing I can get help if something is wrong. Be sure to bring what you can as a donation to help this amazing resource!"
"The staff was always very helpful. My Doctor listened and seemed truly concerned and attentive to all my symptoms and complaints. I don't enjoy hospitals but was never uncomfortable . Thank You All for the service and compassion you give to all your patients."
