Tesla Destination Charger

"There is one Tesla charger and one J1772 charger. Usually these are full because people staying at Skyland Resort will park their vehicles overnight. But I managed to snag the J1772 spot and did some nearby hiking. Not the fastest charging, but free juice is free juice."

"The charger was located near the office and dining hall. The big problem was we were at least 1 of 3 Teslas waiting to use the charger, and at 8kw, it took hours before the first car left the charger open for anyone else. While the nearest superchargers show only 18 miles away, that's as the bird flies. The reality is 43 miles through mountains and an hour travel time."

"Charged my car for free while hiking the stony man trails. For a level 2 tesla charger it was rather slow with only 200 v current and charging at around 23-26miles/hr. BTW no cell signal to check on your car while hiking. This spot also has a non Tesla charger where a Bolt was hooked up."
