Family Dollar 7 East 16th Street, Richmond, VA 23224

"Good morning, My name is Destiny Mickens. I am emailing with great dismay for a terrible encounter I had this morning at your Family Dollar location at 7 E 16th Street Richmond, Va 23224 A member of my family, Lorenzo Harris, was told as soon as they walked in the store this morning that they could no longer come in store. He was given no explanation whatsoever,  which was quite odd and confusing because he has been coming to that store for years. Shortly after, I came to the store with him to speak with manager to see what was going on. Manager was very aggressive and had such an attitude when I asked her why he could not come inside the store anymore. She said nothing at first, then said he be in the store stealing. I asked her where did that come from and could we see the tapes because there is no way he or any other members of my family ever stole from that store or any other store. I knew she had him mixed up with someone else, because that location there is a lot of theft.....which we have witnessed and had to report a few times. The manager was so dismissive like she just did not care what we had to say. Then she stated an employee told her he steals. Once again, I asked her could she please show the tapes do we could prove it was not him. All she said was he can shop, but if it happens again he will be banned. Once again I asked her, how can you keep coming off like that with such a big accusation and disrespect when we are pleading to you that there's a big misunderstanding. I told her I we could have known these different employees over the years and they what kind of people we are but she already had in her mind he was guilty which is very disappointing as long as we called this store our go to. Something needs to be done because this was in no way a way any manager or employee in this establishment or any other one should behave. I even asked to speak to the employees because once they saw us, they would inform her directly it was not him....she just rolled her eyes and walked away. Your manager was not only quite disrespectful, but very unprofessional. This whole situation was very unnecessary and embarrassing for my family to be accused of such a thing in a store full of people when you don't even know for sure if you had the right person. If you all pull the tapes from this morning around 8:34am est when he first arrived in store and again around 9:20am est you will see both encounters exactly and how your employee behaved and what was said. I would greatly appreciate someone addressing this as soon as possible, this is unacceptable."

"All the ladies that work here are friendly and helpful. No attitude. And they must get a lot of sketchy customers. The prices are a scam though. Every time I go here at least one thing rings up higher than it said on the shelf. Either the manager is sloppy, or very shady. Also its the only grocery for miles. The prices on a lot of things are very high for a place with ‘Dollar’ in the name."

"crazy there’s only two employees here, the line is so long and the second employee chose to leave her register and start stocking while the one cashier was to see the entire line. she never asked if the other lady needed assistance or even tried to help. no one had on name tags so i don’t kno anyones name. the lady on the register had on a scarf and the one not helping had faux locs"
