AGOGO

"The name Agogo must literally mean take out as dining in seems to be discouraged, the interior restaurant is spartan and the temperature is cold, the atmosphere is non existent. We came on a rainy day and were greeted at the front door with a leaky rain gutter and a stream of water to dodge as you enter. This place is much like most the other Chinese restaurants in Roanoke, sucky atmosphere for decent food. Our lunches tasted good, fresh and ample quantities."

"Food tasted good and service was adequate. However. Disappointed that they apparently don't have "build your own bowl" service anymore. Seems like most of their business is just take-out. We were the only people dining in at 7:00 on Friday. Food only given in to-go containers."

"I ordered the hibachi shrimp and the shrimp itself was good but the rice didn't seem like normal Japanese or Chinese rice, my husband felt it wasn't fresh but it was okay enough for us to eat and as for the vegetables it was mostly undercooked huge pieces of onion, a few mushrooms, and at least a good portion of zucchini which for me is what saved this meal. The yum yum sauce was good but it cost like $1 each which most places give 1 per order before it cost (we only order 1). Also the employee told us to look at the menu but said it was old and didn't have the updated prices, at first I thought that was okay and it couldn't be that different then I thought something that was going to be around 9 bucks ended up costing like 15 bucks so I was glad my husband and I just decided to split the order. This restaurant is take out only and still require masks to enter even for vaccinated individuals."

"I think the reviews that are lower are based on the fact that most Asian fast food is thoroughly overcooked. This food was fresh and delicious! I picked my own bowl and my son had the shrimp udon noodles and chicken gyoza. I love all the vegetable options - vegetarians would love this place! The servers were exceptionally helpful, too. We will be back frequently."
