"This maple syrup I place just above Aunt Jemima and far behind any other pure maple syrup. Normally maple syrup should only require a modicum amount to give flavor, but this syrup is almost flavorless. Perhaps it's the best that can be done with the product that can be produced in Virginia, I don't know."
"We had a splendid time vacationing at Mill Gap Farms. The picturesque views were breathtaking; the accommodations were clean and comfortable; and the hosts were warm, friendly, good Christian people. Highly recommended. We will return."
"I don't know about them as a b&b, but if you're in Highland County for the maple syrup festival, it's great to stop at Mill Gap and next door: next door is very old fashioned and Mill Gap is super modern. They also do really interesting things with syrup flavors. The coffee syrup was great on ice cream!"
"Just returned from a trip to Mill Gap Farms and am so happy we went. I wanted to hear about the maple syrup production. Kevin, the owner, was so kind and so knowledgeable in his description of how the whole process goes. We got to sample several kinds of syrup and we came home with several bottles. I wish I had bought more, especially of the rye barrel aged syrup. However, they have online ordering, so I know I will be ordering soon. My 15 year old granddaughter was with me and she loves animals. Kevin was super nice to take the time from his busy day and show her around the pastures and help her get to know the alpaca and sheep, and their funny large turkey. It was the highlight of my granddaughter's visit. Kevin could not have been nicer. The farm is gorgeous and is on a mountainside so the views are spectacular. The nearby town of Monterey was fun and we stopped for lunch at a yummy restaurant. If you get the chance to visit the farm, or to stay at the cottage or cabin on the grounds, don't hesitate, you will not be disappointed. We hope to go back for the maple festival in the spring and can't wait."
