"Had a very disappointing meal on NYE. First of all, our reservation was scheduled at 9:15 PM as we were told they had no availability earlier. When the five of us arrived, we were told that they had been slow and they should’ve contacted us and offered us an earlier time when they had cancellations or were under booked. The staff seem to be going through the motions, and a bit annoyed at being there. No warmth. It was very visible to everyone in attendance. None of the appetizers nor entrées were seasoned properly, and every meat order, from the lamb chops to Fillets came out overdone, like leather. Everyone ordered rare to medium rare, and all meat orders were overdone. Do better!"
"This spot was once our go-to, but it's disheartening to witness Kevin and Josh leaving about 10 months ago. The food was impeccable back then. After they departed, we gave Yannis another shot, and while the service remained excellent, the food quality took a nosedive. We haven't returned since April or May 2023. Decided to give it another chance today (11/25/23). Turns out, it's the 3rd or 4th chef since Chef Kevin. No refills on ginger ale, and they charge for each can. Even the food presentation was mediocre."
"We visited Yiannis on a recent trip to VIrginia beach. They have a great variety of wines and little stations where you can pour yourself different wine tastings. The space is divided into the main room and a smaller one where we sat in. It was so dark that several tables used the lights on their phone to read the menu and even eat with it on. The music very lively was so loud that you had to halt conversations to hear the other person. The service as slow and uncoordinated. The hummus and tzatziki appetizer was large enough for at least 4 people our waitress said it’s a good portion for 2!?! The main courses where size appropriate and tastes ok. Both of us had fish and the wine we choose was very good. I don’t think I would go back because of their atmosphere. 3 years later. We did go back since we confused it with another restaurant. It’s still dark and loud. The fried calamari were soggy and over salted, the main course fish was very small, 4 pieces of asparagus, also over salted!!! and mashed potatoes were dense and lumpy on both dishes. The pasta meal was on the menu but we were told that it actually doesn’t exist and they could create something special for us. So they took some spaghetti and mixed them with veggies ($30) that was tasteless. Seriously, don’t go there! Overpriced and food is horrible."
"This was truly a treat. Bobby has best of breed service. His specialty drinks were outstanding. Every dish has a very tasty spin on them. The devil eggs has a bourbon and peach infusion. So good. The fish was fresh and amazing. We look forward to going back soon."
"Great atmosphere and service. Extensive wine collection, of course. Great bread with garlic butter! Charcuterie board is always fun. Venison rack and parmesan fries were pretty good. Beverly's float - root beer cocktail - was awesome. Chocolate velvet skillet cookie with ice cream for dessert was a fantastic way to end the meal!"
