Reviews of Mannino's
"Oh, where do I even begin to describe the culinary odyssey that is Maninnos Italian Restaurant in Virginia Beach? From the moment you walk through the door, it feels as if you've been teleported to a quaint trattoria in the heart of Italy, far removed from the bustling shores of VA Beach. Let's talk starters, shall we? The crab soup was not just a soup; it was an ethereal experience. The richness of the broth, teeming with succulent crab meat, was as comforting as a warm hug on a winter day. One spoonful and I knew I was in for an unforgettable meal. Then came the pièce de résistance: Gnocchi Margarita and Fettuccine Alfredo. These weren't just dishes; they were love letters to Italian cuisine, penned in the language of flavor. The gnocchi were pillowy delights that danced in a sea of marinara so vibrant, it could give the Amalfi Coast a run for its money. As for the fettuccine Alfredo, the creaminess was perfectly balanced, enveloping each strand of pasta like a silk robe. Divine is an understatement. Ah, the wine. The red wine was the perfect wingman—smooth, confident, and complimentary, enhancing each bite and taking the whole experience to a level I didn't even know existed. And then, just when I thought I had scaled the peak of culinary Everest, out came the Tiramisu. If I could frame a dessert and hang it on my wall, this would be the one. It was not just a dessert; it was the crescendo of an opera, the climax of an epic saga. The mascarpone was feather-light, and the coffee and cocoa notes were so exquisitely balanced that each bite felt like a standing ovation. Now, let's not forget the service. Award-winning seems almost too modest a term. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable without being pretentious—a maestro orchestrating an unforgettable dining experience. In short, if you're looking to be swept off your feet, look no further than Maninnos. It's not just a meal; it's a journey, a story, and a love affair with Italian cuisine all rolled into one. Trust me, you won't just leave with a full belly; you'll leave with a full heart. Ed & Kim Simons"
"We visited Virginia Beach and stayed across the street from Manninos at the oceanfront. We ate there 5 out of 6 nights! The food is amazing! The she crab soup the best ever! You must order! The terramissou desert is a must! Fabulous service every day! I can’t wait to go back!"
"The host was the main disappointing part - she was not very welcoming. Was told all tables including the bar was a wait. (Even though the bar had several open seats). Then 10 minutes later a couple came in and got on the waitlist and was told to could wait at the bar and have drinks. The server was very nice and tried to stay on top of things but was very busy. The food was good. My company really enjoyed their food. I thought mine - the sauce was watery."
"The food was nothing short of incredible, but what made this one of the best dinners I have ever had was our server, Anna. Anna was most professional, knowledgeable, super sweet, and just the perfect amount of present. If you have the pleasure of visiting this establishment, ask for Anna."
"Food was fantastic, service was excellent, and it was overall a good time. Prices ended up a bit on the higher side by the end, but everything was of such good quality and volume that it definitely was worth the cost. Will almost certainly return."
