"My wife and I finally made it here after living in the area for 2 years. We went for restaurant week and I must say the hype is justified. The Brussel sprouts were some of the best I’ve ever had, the charcoal chicken was so juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The sticky toffee pudding was a perfect way to finish it off. The real star and headliner was my wife’s order of Ricotta Gnudi which was some of the best food I think I’ve ever eaten. We will be back many times!"

"It was our first time at Codex and it was amazing. We made reservations before a show at Chrysler Hall. When we arrived, the restaurant was empty. We had a 5:30 reservation. But by the time we left, the restaurant was full. We started with the chicken liver tart, Brussels sprouts, and fresh oysters (from Lynnhaven). The tart had a little sweetness to it, which was deliciously different. The oysters were good. And the Brussels sprout in the nuoc chăm sauce was money! It was different than the typical Brussel sprouts you get from everywhere else. 2 of us got the duck breast, and 2 of us got the special pork chop off the night. Both dishes were delicious. All of our plates were cleaned. The pork chop was flavorful; and the duck breast cooked perfectly. We didn’t have dessert as we didn’t want to be late for the show. We would definitely come back!"

"I'm utterly smitten. Codex knows its dang business. Everything—hospitality, ambiance, music, food, and beverages—were on point. We ordered two small plates, two large plates, an off-menu special dessert (it was fire), and drinks. None of these things failed to exceed expectations. Our server in particular was super nice and had lots of expertise to share. Just a fantastic, joyful dining experience!"

"It was a bit hard to find Codex along the packed with restaurants Granby Street, we missed it a couple of times even on foot! But once you find it, The atmosphere here at Codex is chic, modern and inviting. Lighting is key in setting the mood so wonderful that as you sit and wait for your order you do notice that the lights are dimmed to set the mood to just relax and enjoy your meal. My friend ordered the pimiento dip. I ordered the peach and goat cheese salad. Both dishes were stunning to look at and equally delicious. Service is wonderful, they come by often to fill your glass, asking if they can get you anything. The only thing I wish is that they have better selection of desserts! Such a nice upscale place should be able to offer unique end of meal experience so we all can linger a while longer."

"WONDERFUL service & food! 10/10 experience. We will be back. I always order Brussels sprouts at every restaurant & they all kind of do the same roasting or frying method with the glaze but Codex had a different spin that was yumm. The hanger steak & burger both had so much flavor. Then the ending - carrot cake was very moist and had the perfect balance of flavors. Not too sweet at all!"
