Reviews of Colonial Home Services Electrical Plumbing Heating and AC
"Called this company based on the reviews to install a whole home humidifier. Customer service person is fabulous! However, mediocre work by a tech who no longer works for them. Had to be called back multiple times. Cost me over 800 dollars. Signed up for the HVAC 9.95 a month which included someone being scheduled by the company to come out to perform an inspection every year. Not one time did any one call and schedule - I had to call and when I questioned "why?" it was always a different excuse - first year it was a new computer system, this year it was the manager was in the process of making the appointments. That was in December - well into the "winter season" - so obviously customers who sign up for the monthly HVAC service is not on their priority list. Funny thing, it says in the contract that we can't cancel the monthly before 2 years. Which is a crock if you ask me.... I cancelled immediately."
"When we moved into our house we had an HVAC issue, electrical questions and now our plumbing decided to show its ugly side. Our main drain backed up. After calling an emergency after hours call. Josh B came quick and got the clog. Well the sucker was a bigger problem then thought. Fast forward a week and the drain backs up but now won’t drain AT ALL. After 7 hours fighting it and trying to locate it, Josh and Glenn fought the beast of hair, fur, scum etc and WON! We all celebrated. The mess was real, but you’d never know. Josh is awesome and made sure water flowed, everything was put back inside and out. So much professionalism and compassion! Thanks Colonial for yet again a wonderful job!"
"THANK YOU! Colonial Home Service: If I'm am ever asked, do you know a GREAT electrician you can guarantee I will tell them about CHS - Special thanks to Josh and Dom"
"*With updates* The customer service starting with the desk assistant who answered my call was amazing. She explained everything that I should be expecting when getting my quote and again when getting a new tankless water heater installed... After 2 days of work the first week of February, I have had to call them back 3 times! The first call was because they left multiple pipes leaking 3/27 The second was because the hydronic baseboards were not heating the house properly. My house has 2 zones for hydronic heating, and due to removing one pump from the system (that was supposedly supplemented by the pump in the tankless water heater), only one zone worked. Their solution was to remove a flow control valve from the system and call it good because it solved the problem. 4/5 Today (when OG posted) 58 days after intallation, our expansion tank fell off the wall (see pictures). Pvc bent, expansion on the wall, and a pressurized system waiting to fail at any moment. Luckily, my husband was home to hear it fall because otherwise, who knows how long it would be sitting there in shambles. What was the issue this time? All 4 screws had only 3 threads in contact with the studs they were mounted to. Josh, who came out today (and has been working this the whole time), said that they don't have a screw greater than 2" on the truck. At this point, I called the service center and told them they needed to send the inspector to check on their work. 4/7 The owner (Glen) called me to schedule an appointment with him and the inspector. 4/8 The permit was pulled. This is 61 days AFTER work had begun!! 4/10 The inspector and the owner enter and leave the house in less than 10 minutes. The inspector didn't take any pictures or notes. 4/11 Inspection fails 4/26 I allow them to come back (as long as Josh was not the one to continue working on my system) and attempt to fix their issues. At this time, they sent an HVAC guy (?) to fix their inspection issues. I asked a few questions, to which the HVAC guy called Glen/the boss to get me an answer (since he's not a plumber). After about the 3rd question, someone told the HVAC guy to tell me to send them an email with a list of all the things that need to be fixed. After being told to give them a list of things that need to be fixed; I have since contacted a lawyer (5/1), given them a demand letter (5/5) along with a quote from another company for the cost to fix their work, and recieved a check (5/9) to get my system fixed once and for all. This has been an absolutely crazy and ridiculous ride! I am glad that it is finally coming to an end."
"I was able to get an appointment with a plumber immediately upon calling Colonial Home Services. Josh B. arrived at the time scheduled and we went through what I needed with my Kitchen and bathroom plumbing. I asked him to replace both the kitchen and bathroom faucets, as both faucets had poor performance issues. I asked that he go purchase whatever needed replacing and to also clean out the bathroom drain. He returned from purchasing the new faucets (I LOVE what he bought), installed them and thoroughly cleaned the sink drain in the bathroom. Excellent performance, yet again, by Colonial Home Services. I feel they are a little pricey - BUT, it is worth every penny spent to have the quick response, the quality service and professional people making the repairs on my home. I have now used them three times and I will be using them again."
