MISSION BBQ
About the Business
MISSION BBQ is a patriotic and community-focused restaurant located at 1020 Temple Avenue in Colonial Heights, Virginia. Our mission is to serve authentic, mouth-watering all-American food to those who protect and serve our country and communities. From our young men and women in uniform to our local Police, Firefighters, and First Responders, we aim to give back and support these heroes who make our lives better.
Since opening our doors in 2011, MISSION BBQ has donated over $25,000,000 to vital charities and organizations. We believe in taking care of our team and prioritizing the needs of our employees, just like General Manager Jimi in Robinson, PA, who always puts his teammates first.
One of our inspirations is Tom Glenn, who was on the last helicopter to leave Saigon during Operation Frequent Wind in 1975. His dedication and commitment to serving others reflect the values we hold dear at MISSION BBQ.
Come dine with us and experience the flavors of America while supporting those who protect and serve our country and communities.

"Food was delicious. Manager on duty was on point. When I come back to Colonial Heights, I'll drop back in! ...#49ers girl"
"You have to love Mission BBQ! Great support for military and first responders and they have genuine strong ties with the local community. Food tastes great—I had the pulled pork sandwich with Mac & cheese and baked beans, and I had enough for a filling dinner AND a filling lunch the next day. Friendly staff that regularly came by to get us refills and keep the tables clean. I was especially grateful to Aidan (or Aiden? Young guy with curly blonde hair) who took great care of us and also helped me become adventurous enough to try brisket (I typically stay with pork and chicken). He made the whole night. We will be back!"
"The food was really good. Portions were not huge, but were certainly adequate. Staff were awesome and since it was our first visit here, they gave us a complimentary apple cobbler. If there was a negative it was kinda pricey. But then again recent inflation has made everywhere like that."
"I had the baby back ribs that were truly and factually falling off the bones. I also really enjoyed the baked beans, however was not a big fan of the coleslaw. I almost overlooked that they had glass bottles of specialty soda before the cash register, which was a nice addition to the meal. They have six different types of sauces to put on the meat which were varied and regional specific. I'll be looking for more locations of this restaurant wherever I go."
