"I am pleased with our experience here. They took our group of 11 with 15 minutes notice after our reservations elsewhere fell through. Some of the food (shrimp and grits and sausage and gravy) were overcooked. The food was a bit under seasoned. The breakfast biscuit had no sign of hot honey and we ordered more than one. Should be drizzled over the chicken not added to the biscuit, it drowns out the taste. The atmosphere was a perfect brunch spot, drinks were good with unique flavors and names. All of the food was presented well (shrimp and grits were a bit watery and didn’t present well). Biscuits were hard and some burnt but the flavor was good and we could tell they were from scratch. Lemonade is Minute Maid. For the price it was worth it but I would just hope for more attention to these very unique dishes. There is a flavor explosion in the menu description when reading but it doesn’t always translate to the cooked food. I would go again for drinks and to taste non breakfast food, but not likely since there are so many other amazing food places in Richmond. Having a large party sometimes sets the tone for service. I understand the difficulty that comes with giving us superb service, but I expect a certain level. Our server seemed annoyed and preoccupied. She didn’t check on us and we frequently had to bye for her attention to have simple requests filled for our table (condiments, salt, missing items & entrees)"
"The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. We had a group of 7 and there was no wait and we were seated as soon as we got in. We ordered Chicken & Waffles, French Toast, Shrimp & Grits, And Steak & Eggs. French Toast and the Chicken and waffles was Amazing! Unfortunately the steak wasn't cooked the way asked. Even getting a redo still wasn't right. The shrimp and grits were too watery. Our main waitress was amazing and anyone who came in contact with us were great! The drinks were great as well so shoutout to the bartender. Even with the mistakes they did discount the meal and offer a round of drinks on the house which was very appreciated! I would come back again to try different items on the menu."
"This restaurant accommodated our large and loud party of 20 at the last minute. The staff was fabulous and patient. Mixed drinks were excellent. If I had to base the review stars off of the food I'd give them one star. The french fries were the best part of the meal. They seemed fresh cut and the oil was fresh. I ordered an only cheese smash burger and it looked like a frozen perfectly round and unsmashed burger. My first bite was soooo salty I couldn't eat it at all. I thought a smashburger had crispy edges. You should take the name SMASH off the menu because that is false advertisement or educate yourself on what a smashburger actually entails. I left hungry but the service from the staff was amazing. Sidenote: This is the first time I've ever ordered firecracker shrimp and it was grilled and not breaded. I don't approve and the menu did not inform you."
"Cool vibe! Great drinks, appetizers, and entrees! Really good happy hour and great bourbon selection available. Edemame is best in class, calamari done very well, burger is very good. Chicken pesto needs some work. I would recommend dialing back the salt in general."
"Came in town for a girls trip and stopped here on the way back home. I ordered the grits, eggs, waffle, and chicken breast. Food was cold, i bit into the waffle and it was not done. Our server was nice though."
