"I went here in the afternoon with a group. I ordered the Quesa Birria tacos which came with rice and beans. The rice and beans were pretty bland and the Quesa Birria didn't taste authentic but I enjoyed eating it nonetheless. The atmosphere for this place was great and I also appreciated the service. The price point for the food is a little on the expensive side for what you get, but I would recommend this restaurant as a good hand out spot."

"We stopped in for lunch today and had a fantastic experience! Our server Morgan and even the owner Garland were so welcoming and made us feel right at home in this gorgeous island-style restaurant! I felt like I was in the Caribbean among the nautical decor with even a beautiful wood sailing sloop hanging from the ceiling. The Chips Trio and Quesadilla were fresh, delicious and so plentiful I even took away a Doggie Box for dinner. This is our new favorite "Go to" in Richmond! You'll not be disappointed- Guaranteed! "Had a great time at this restaurant in Regency mall. Fairly new, going to be opening up a rooftop in the next month, which I'm looking forward to. The food was fresh and delicious. However I concur with other reviewers that the portions are fairly small so if you have a big appetite may not be for you. The drinks from the bar were very underwhelming, very light on alcohol. However the service is great and the ambience is awesome. With that said, can't wait to go back. My wife said the tacos were the best she's ever had. I had the carne asada and I thoroughly enjoyed it although I wish there was more. They have rolled up doors at the front to let fresh air in and to increase the outdoor atmosphere."

"What a breath of fresh air added to the list of Richmond gourmet restaurants. Sloop:John B. Is a song by the Beach Boys; you can imagine the ambience and food by it is name. Interior design reflects the beach scene with room dividers made of surf boards and the eye catching bar with beautiful blue background. Even though the restaurant name shows as Island Style Taco Bar, but they offer more than just Tacos. The menu is innovative. Everything sounds so good. My husband had the Carne Asada, the skirt steak was tender and tasty. The partially covered rooftop is under construction. You will be able to enjoy a delicious meal with pleasant view in the fresh outdoor air. There is an elevator if you cannot use the stairs. Food was delicious but was slightly pricey and portion was not very big. Next time I will order tacos a la carte instead of as a platter. Service was wonderful and we loved being there. No"
