"My previous review mentioning problems prompted such a speedy, professional, and gracious response from The Tavern's owner that I went back. I have gone here for years and if you are not a doctor receiving luxury dinners from drug reps this casual, patio, bar, and restaurant is a terrific place to get a steak, pasta, or NC BBQ. There's spicy dishes and black pepper on the shrimp so ask about dishes. Carnivores, vegans, and gluten all will discover fun food at The Tavern."

"We were staying overnight in the Richmond area while making our way down south. The Tavern was one of the restaurants recommended to us. We were not disappointed. The place was full on a Sunday night (A good sign.) and appeared to be quite popular among the locals. (Another good sign) I had a Greek salad and grilled chicken dish served over rice with fresh mozzarella and tomatoes. It was excellent. My partner had the grilled chicken sandwich with Swiss and bacon and French fries. Both were delicious. The service was friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere was vibrant without being too loud. If we’re in the area again, we would definitely return. Highly recommended."

"A very friendly spot where my husband and I had dinner. Delicious food in a nice atmosphere. Service was fabulous! The vegetarian Penne Naturale was wonderful paired with a fresh, crispy side salad. Hubby enjoyed the NY Strip. Generous portions enabled us both to bring home leftovers."
