"I love the food at this place and the service is amazing. I’m frustrated when I order pick up because for some reason I don’t get all of my food. When I dine in, I get 4 bao and 10 chicken and mushroom dumplings. When I do a pick up order, I only get 2 bao and 6 dumplings for the same price. I’m not sure why this has happened twice now. And since they don’t have a phone number, I can’t call and ask about it. So I’d suggest folks dine in if they can!"
"We love Astoria and wanted to try their sister restaurant copycat because we noticed they have a slightly different menu. It did not disappoint! You can’t make reservations here like you can at Astoria, so we came a couple minutes before they opened to ensure we could grab a spot. We were immediately greeted and given water and goldfish. All the staff are so friendly and always checking in on you. We ordered the vegan noodles, chicken and mushroom potstickers, salt and pepper shrimp, and lazi chicken. We’ve had the noodles and lazi chicken at Astoria before, but the potstickers and shrimp were items we hadn’t tried before. Everything was so delicious, especially the shrimp. So crispy and flavorful! The potstickers came hot and tasted fresh as well. With the lazi chicken, our waiter noticed they used the wrong cut of chicken. Normally it comes with bone-in chicken thighs but we were given the boneless style they normally use for skewers. He apologized and ended up comping the lazi chicken for us which was extremely considerate! It was still delicious and one of our go to orders. Overall it was a great dinner and great service. During our time there it got very crowded for a Sunday night. When we headed out people were already waiting to grab our seats. Safe to say this is a popular spot and their food is amazing."
"Nice little bar at second floor, I believe 1st floor is the kitchen. Bartenders are very kind, they will check on you, refill water for you. I had pot stickers and lamb soup with pull noodle. Food was decent, very flavorful, very Asian, except the portion is smaller than I thought. The atmosphere is great, casual feeling, kind of loud. Space is tight, very few tables, but good for dating or small group. Overall, very nice little bar in southern DC, my go-to place at midnight. A warm soup would keep you awake from the dizzy."
"We didn’t realize it was such a popular place. It can feel really snug and busy but usually someone is closing a check if you want sit while eating and drinking. They have outside seating downstairs which gives more of a calmer vibe (at least it did at the time). You seat yourself and can share the larger table inside with strangers we ordered lamb skewers and crab fried rice (lol twice) both were good we just didn’t know which one we would want more of drinks we also tasty."
"Awesome spot that’s easy to walk past without noticing, but once you do notice…meow. Bar style seating with high energy up top and a more laid back patio space. Up a flight of stairs to the first (and limited) seating area. Down another set for the patio. The service is fantastic, the drinks wonderful (best Caipirinha I’ve had in a long while), and the food wonderful. The crab fried rice was a touch short on crab this visit, but I didn’t really care given the popping flavors. Each dish has a bit of heat, especially the pork noodles. The kind of heat that keeps bringing you back. This spot is an absolute must stop, and while it’s name suggests otherwise, it’s sure to be copied by others looking to capture the same flavors and experience."
