Reviews of Column 15 Coffee
"Thanks to Rae for her great service and suggestions!! We had the Cookie Tin flight (coffee) and the Hot Chocolate flight. Everything was so tasty. If you've been thinking about checking this place out, just do it!!"
"I really enjoyed this coffee shop! I looked up coffee shops near me and this happened to be within the top rated so I decided to try it out and I was not disappointed. The staff is very friendly and the ambiance is cozy and great! I love it!"
"Greeted and served promptly by a friendly and enthusiastic barista, I enjoyed the most luxurious latte flight I’ve ever enjoyed! All of us Harry Potter fans have been waiting on a flavor like this to hit our palates when we’re on the coffee prowl. Today, I felt like I had been transported to Diagon Alley, to the Leaky Cauldron, where I sat with my classmates Harry and Ron, while keeping one eye on my books at all times. That’s right, the Hermione Granger in me (a girl who appreciates magic!) fell in love with this sweet, full bodied, creamy, butterscotch-y goodness that was balanced with a proper bitterness from a thoughtfully medium roasted espresso bean. My Butterbeer latte was magical, and transformative, with a garnish of butterscotch drizzle and sparkling raw sugar crystals. I believe there was an extra layer of frothy milk on this particular latte, perhaps, to enhance the Butterbeer experience. Next up was the Chocolate Creme latte, one that I was looking forward to as a chocolate lover. Oh, how the creamy, sweet fudgy latte kissed my lips and warmed my throat while the chocolate, richer than milk chocolate, but not quite dark chocolate, filled my palate with bittersweet notes mingling with the aromatics of the espresso roast. Drinking this Chocolate Creme latte reignited my love for the classic mocha latte, as some other places use too much sweetener, dulling the overall profile. Not Column 15 - this mocha latte, garnished with a chocolate drizzle, was well balanced. It was so smooth, so decadent, and would be an excellent choice year round. Buzzing into the third position of this latte flight was the Honeybee latte, the floral foil to the first two lattes. With a honey drizzle and a splash of spicy cinnamon on top, this fragrant latte reminded me of olive oil at first, but hear me out: this latte had a roundness and a velvety texture on the palate, with an unexpected fresh grassiness, despite being lighter bodied, in contrast with the fuller bodied espresso roast. This latte was the most exotic flavor to me, as I've only ever enjoyed honey in hot tea before. It was slightly sweet indeed, as is honey, but its floral nature crowned this latte the stand-alone almost savory latte, and a welcome addition to this dessert latte lineup. Beaming in from outer space, the fourth latte was the Milky Way latte, named for its inspiration, the Milky Way candy bar. A confection that pairs up two fan favorites, chocolate and caramel, this latte was my favorite of the five, as difficult as it was to make that assessment. After relishing in the mocha miracle that was the Chocolate Creme latte, what could be better? Caramel is just sweet, right, so how is this Milky Way latte different? Upon the first sip, a pleasant medley of chocolate and caramel, rich, fudgy, and butterscotch-y, burst onto my tongue and tantalized my tastebuds with its balanced flavors and bittersweet bite. No flavor was lost in this creamy, candy bar-inspired latte. Even with the caramel, it was not cloying, but had a robust flavor. Garnished with both a caramel and a chocolate drizzle, this latte was inviting from first sight! Lastly, the fifth latte, Snickerdoodle, was a welcome plot twist with its spicy take on the classic cinnamon and brown sugar cookie that all know and love. While the cinnamon notes did lend an essence of the winter holidays to this beverage, its overall profile made it a standout elevated adult Summer latte with its spicy, not sweet, cinnamon sprinkle garnish and flavor throughout. Zap! This red hot spicy latte hit the back of my tongue with heat and filled my mouth with an explosion of spicy fresh ground cinnamon. Mellowed slightly by the steamed milk, this latte was a surprise for me because I was expecting it to be sweeter. I’m grateful that it wasn’t, because its personality was an invigorating one, next to the relaxing, sweeter sister lattes in the flight. My husband devoured his delicious panini, and we can't wait to visit again soon!"
"Nice little coffee shop in a nondescript strip mall. Worth the trip over here. Ordered the medium roasted Guatemalan french press, a few scones and the quiche. Everything was very good but the coffee was the star. Lovely floral notes on the front end with a nice vanilla note. The shop itself was awesome, cutely decorated with a science theme. 5/5, definitely will be back again"
