Food City

"Since the remodeling, I hate the new deli/bakery area. It isn't set up right. Getting help from anyone in those departments are next to impossible. Get food at lunch counter then have to go to separate checkout which isn't always manned. And the new way of cashier not emptying cart anymore when you have small children is no longer helpful. I am also not a supporter of Starbucks and their way of doing business. Highly disappointed that the remodel is still not done and it's hard to find anything. Used to be a nice small town store. Bread and meat expire really fast recently. We're talking a day or two and have mold/browning."

"This store is always clean and well kept inside and out. I have been craving "Ceviche"; which is normally only offered during summer months in the seafood department and only in the more Mexican populated neighborhoods. I asked the seafood manager, Richard, if he could make a small batch for me and I would purchase most if not all of it. This man went out of his way and made me and my family very happy. I purchased every bite of the Ceviche and I will never forget how Richard went out of his way to come in early to make me and my family feel important enough for him too do so. He deserves recognition for his efforts because he does things like this all the time! I wish I knew what too do to make it happen for him!!"

"Have had nothing but good experiences at this location...ESPECIALLY the Fried Chicken! I wish whoever does the chicken (and other cooking) at Gate City location could go do some training at Church Hill location (chicken ALWAYS overcooked and dry) and Fort Henry location (haven't tried the food here yet). Just moved close by Fort Henry rd. location, walked in to check out the food/deli and it all looked like a homeless soup kitchen."

"Been shopping here with my family for years. We spend over $1000 every month here, or well did anyway. Found out today that they no longer accept TN issued licenses to purchase alcohol. Also, the ongoing construction, expired food, and the management and staff have made this store very unpleasant to enjoy your shopping experience. We would highly recommend shopping anywhere else to save you the time and spare you the disappointment."

"other than nobody knowing where anything is it's literally a basic grocery store with poorly planned renovations happening, should someone get fired for how poorly planned renovations are going? definitely not only is it insulting to shoppers for construction to be happening during shopping hours when it's just as easy to do everything at night when it's closed (10-6) but it'd be more convenient and it really shows the blatant lack of genuine common sense that the management has at this location."
